Arrow (TV Series) Episode: Fadeout
The Oliver that I met eight years ago is not the one that we say goodbye to today. Oliver always told me that in order to save his city, he had to become someone else, he had to become something else. I always thought that meant becoming the Green Arrow, but...today, I realized that meant becoming a better man, the best man he knew how to be, and he took all of us with him on that journey. He changed everything. Oliver brought heroes into the world, he inspired heroes, he inspired all of us here. I was his brother, and Oliver Queen was mine. Of course, life will go on. It always does. But how? What twists and turns it will take, I can't say. I don't know what the future holds...except to say expect the unexpected. Oliver may be gone, but his mission endures. That mission lives on, Oliver lives on, in the people he inspired. Some will take that mission to the rest of the world...maybe even beyond that. Because if the past eight years has shown us anything...it's that this universe is far bigger than any of us could have dared imagine. Even if it is a little less bright, without him in it.

Notes
- This is the series finale of Arrow.
- It is also the only Arrow episode to be set on Earth-Prime.
- This episode takes place after the events of The Flash episode, "Marathon".
- From Mia Queen's point of view, these events take place a few weeks after the events of "Green Arrow & The Canaries".
- The Spectre/Oliver Queen's story is eventually continued in Earth-Prime (Volume 1) and, then, in The Flash episode, "It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To".
- John Diggle's Green Lantern Ring storyline from the epilogue of this episode is continued in the Batwoman episode, "Rebirth".
- Green Arrow/Mia Queen's story chronologically continues in The Flash episode, "Armageddon, Part 5" and, then, in Earth-Prime #6.
- It is revealed that, during the creation of Earth-Prime,[1] The Spectre/Oliver Queen brought a few changes to the continuity:
- Tommy Merlyn didn't die during the Undertaking in "Sacrifice" and married Laurel Lance some time before her death in "Eleven-Fifty-Nine";
- Moira Queen never died during the events of "Seeing Red" as Oliver managed to overcome Slade Wilson;
- Rory Regan's magic powers were restored some time after the events of "Bratva";
- Quentin Lance survived the events of "Life Sentence", like in the alternate timeline from "Reset", and is Mayor of Star City;
- Emiko Queen never died against the Ninth Circle during the events of "You Have Saved This City".
- The flashforward from Nora's Future suggests that Mar Novu was also restored to existence after the rebirth of the Multiverse.
- The existence of Van Wayne Industries implies that some of the continuity of Powerless was also brought to Earth-Prime..
- This has also been confirmed by Arrow co-creator, Marc Guggenheim.[2]
- Earth-2 Laurel Lance has become a living paradox as a consequence of the creation of Earth-Prime as its residents have never interacted with parallel universes after the Crisis.
Trivia
- Laurel being the last survivor of Earth-2 and becoming a living paradox is a reference to Earth-Two Power Girl and her Post-Flashpoint counterpart becoming a living paradox in the same circumstances.
- Marc Guggenheim also cameos at Oliver's memorial.
