Jenny Quantum is a Century Baby for the 21st Century, a member of Stormwatch.

Born at the turn of the 21st Century, Jenny Quantum met Adam One at a young age when the immortal smuggled her out of an orphanage in Tottenham, telling her that Stormwatch would become her new family. Adam One mentored Jenny as he had the Century Babies before her who similarly joined Stormwatch, helping her learn the nature and scope of her abilities. Even at a young age, Jenny participated in Stormwatch missions while living on the Eye, a space ship in hyperspace that served as the group's base of operations.

After a mission in which Adam One froze during a crisis, the Shadow Lords who oversee Stormwatch's actions revoked Adam One's membership, clinically killing him as they teleported him away. The 12-year-old Jenny Quantum continued to serve on the team as she gained more independence and a better understanding of physics and thus her own abilities.

Over time, Stormwatch's tentative leader, Engineer, became corrupted after absorbing a weapon called a Devolver. Her natural human empathy eroded until she no longer identified herself as Angie Spica. The Engineer turned on her teammates, incapacitating Jenny Quantum by epileptically exciting the "god spot" in her brain, leaving Jenny unconscious until former Stormwatch member Harry Tanner awoke her. Upon opening her eyes, Jenny screamed, causing a power surge that demolished the Eye and defeated Engineer, though Jenny Quantum disappeared in the process.

The machinations of otherworldly beings called the Collective created an alternate timeline featuring a new iteration of Stormwatch. This timeline was eventually reversed, and Jenny Quantum was revealed to be alive and an active member of Stormwatch once more, this time with the team acting outside of the Shadow Lords' command.[1]

As a result of various Multiversal reboots, Jenny Quantum was erased from history and replaced by Jenny Crisis as the Spirit of the 21st Century.[2]

    • Force Field[4]
    • Energy Transference[5]
    • Energy Construct Creation: Jenny Quantum can create symbols made of light that exist suspended in three-dimensional space, most often when contemplating equations or engaging in physics-based mental exercises.[6] She has also created blocks, referred to as "transient nuclear fission entertainments," to pass the time.[7]
    • Energy Projection: Jenny Quantum is capable of projecting dark sub-atomic particles, an ability presents itself as an energy wave emitted from her hands.[8] Some of the energies she manipulates may emit radiation, whether she wishes them to or not.[9] By the time she reached 14 years old, she learned how to project energy as an offensive attack, as well as how to surround her fists with energy to augment her punches to superhuman levels.[1]
