Ann Magnuson
Ann Magnuson (born 4 January 1956; age 69) is an American actress and musician who played Admiral Kirsten Clancy in the Star Trek: Picard first season episodes "Maps and Legends" and "Broken Pieces".
Magnuson sang in a satirical faux heavy metal band named Vulcan Death Grip. Later, she fronted the psychedelic rock band Bongwater. [1] Since the mid-1980s, she has also had a career as a solo artist. Magnuson's film career began with Vortex (1981, with Dick Miller). Next was The Hunger (1983, with Cliff DeYoung. Magnuson later appeared in Desperately Seeking Susan (1985, with Robert Joy, Timothy Carhart, John Hoyt, and Isabel Lorca). 1987 saw Magnuson in the telefilm Tales From the Hollywood Hills: A Table at Ciro's with Earl Boen and Donna Murphy. Magnuson was then in Tequila Sunrise (1988, with Gabriel Damon and Daniel Zacapa), and Checking Out (1989, with Ian Wolfe).
In the decade that followed, Magnuson appeared in Cabin Boy (1994, with Mike Starr). That same year Magnuson co-starred in Clear and Present Danger, with Vaughn Armstrong, Patrick Bauchau, Reg E. Cathey, Raymond Cruz, Kamala Lopez-Dawson, Elizabeth Dennehy, Ellen Geer, Michael Jace, Aaron Lustig, John Putch, Cameron Thor, Harley Venton, and Harris Yulin. A year later, Magnuson appeared in Tank Girl, starring Lori Petty and Malcolm McDowell, with Doug Jones, Jeff Kober, Reg E. Cathey, Clayton Landey, James Hong, Charles Lucia, Iggy Pop and Frank Welker. In 1996, Magnuson appeared in Before and After, with Jordan Lund. Magnuson went on to appear in Still Breathing (1997, with Toby Huss and Michael McKean), Hugo Pool (1997, with Malcolm McDowell, Cathy Moriarty and Bert Remsen), Small Soldiers (1998, with Michael McKean, Dick Miller, Robert Picardo, Wendy Schaal, Kirsten Dunst, and Frank Langella) and I Woke Up Early the Day I Died (1998, with Lee Arenberg, Michael G. Hagerty, Brent Hinkley, Blake Lindsley, Ron Perlman, Mark Rolston, Carel Struycken and Steven Weber).
Film work in the 21st century[]
In 2000, Magnuson appeared in Love & Sex, with Famke Janssen and Robert Knepper, followed by Glitter (2001, with Padma Lakshmi), Night at the Golden Eagle (2001, with Shelly Desai), The United States of Leland (2003, co-starring Ron Canada, Clyde Kusatsu, Matt Malloy, Jim Metzler, Angela Paton, Michael Welch, and Dell Yount), and Open House (2004, with Sally Kellerman).
Television Guest Roles[]
Magnuson's television debut was Alive from Off Center (1984), followed much later by The John Larroquette Show (1996, starring John Larroquette) and The Adventures of Pete & Pete (1996, with Golden Brooks). A year later, Magnuson would guest on The Drew Carey Show starring Diedrich Bader in "Check Out Drew's Old Flame", and a year after that, Magnuson would reteam with Mark Rolston in From the Earth to the Moon in "We have Cleared the Tower". Magnuson later appeared in the final season of Frasier}} (2013, starring Kelsey Grammer), and that same year Magnuson would guest on CSI: Miami with John Kassir. 2007 would mark the first time Magnuson would work with her future costar Patrick Stewart on the Seth MacFarlane's American Dad also starring Scott Grimes and Wendy Schaal. Magnuson then appeared on Modern Family (2013, starring Ariel Winter, with Peggy Miley.
