James Van Over

James E. Van Over (born 28 January 1959; age 66) was a scenic artist on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. He also worked on Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis and received a "special thanks" credit in Star Trek Generations.

Several characters in Star Trek were named after him, including J. Van Over, James Van Over (Starfleet), and James Van Over (UESPA). Van Over himself wrote an article about creating the US Air Force Aircraft hangar for the episode "Little Green Men" in the Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 1, Issue 10 in 2000.

Van Over later worked as graphic artist on the fan production Star Trek: New Voyages, episode "To Serve All My Days" (2006), which featured Walter Koenig, Mary-Linda Rapelye, James Cawley, Jeffery Quinn, and Larry Nemecek.

Outside Trek, Van Over worked as scenic artist on Brannon Braga's Threshold (2005-2006, starring Brent Spiner) and as graphic artist on the television thriller Beyond (2006), the Vanished pilot episode (2006), and 24 (2006-2007).
