A spa was a type of resort where individuals could relax and enjoy themselves while undergoing various health and beauty treatments. One such facility was the Golian Spa. (DS9: "Children of Time")
Sometime before 2151, Malcolm Reed once visited a spa in Mexico. He claimed it was the "most relaxing place I've ever been" but in his opinion, it didn't come close to the decontamination chamber on Enterprise NX-01. (ENT: "Sleeping Dogs")
In 2256, Harry Mudd told Captain Gabriel Lorca about a spa at a resort off Antares Minor that offered services such hot stone massages. (DIS: "Choose Your Pain")
In 2371, while posing as William T. Riker, Thomas Riker claimed that Doctor Beverly Crusher "nearly shoved me out the airlock" in her zeal to get him to take shore leave after building up almost three months worth. Benjamin Sisko was surprised that he had chosen to visit Deep Space 9, saying the space station "isn't exactly known as a vacation spa." Riker then explained he was actually stopping by on his way to Risa. (DS9: "Defiant")
