رَبَطَ • (rabaṭa) I (non-past يَرْبُطُ (yarbuṭu), verbal noun رَبْط (rabṭ))
- to tie up, to bind
- رَبَطَ الرَّجُلُ حِذَاءَهُ بِإحكَامِ. ― The man tied his shoes tightly.
- to fasten, to attach
- (Quran) to strengthen (used with the word for "heart" قَلْب (qalb))
وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ إِذْ قَامُوا فَقَالُوا رَبُّنَا رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
- warabaṭnā ʕalā qulūbihim ʔiḏ qāmū faqālū rabbunā rabbu s-samāwāti wālʔarḍi
