Mindy came to work as a sub-intern at the hospital in order to vie for a spot as a surgical intern there. On her first day, she toured the hospital and observed a surgery. ("Break Down the House")
After the sub-interns were challenged to find a suitable abdominal wall donor for Megan Hunt, Mindy suggested a woman had been dead for three days, making her ineligible. ("Get Off on the Pain")
