Bruce Banner (Earth-70105)
Dr. Bruce Banner felt personally responsible for Peter Parker's transformation, having been one of the original inventors of the Gamma Bomb. So, he worked night and day to try to find the origin of the Hulk, and came to the conclusion that he needed a blood sample to cure him. When he proposed this idea to Director Reed Richards, he was refused, since S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't afford to lose him in a run-in with the Hulk.[4]

Dr. Bruce Banner
Upset and distracted, Banner went back to work, beginning to dissect a spider that survived the same blast that Peter did. The spider bit him, altering his DNA. Since he was bitten as an adult, his body was unable to cope, and he went on a rampage, escaping the military installation and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s grasp for two years. After years of being in custody, along with gene therapy and heavy medication, Doctor Banner became the newest member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. family, Spider-Man.[5]
Spider-Verse[]
Bruce was recruited by the S.H.I.E.L.D. of Earth-41940 into the Spider-Men, a group of Spider-Man analogs assembled to combat the Multiversal Sinister Six.[1]

Among the Spider-Men
Banner later was recruited into the Spider-Army to fight the Inheritors.[2] Back on Earth-41940, Spider-Man was among the Spider-Men not fond of the Superior Spider-Army's methods with dealing the Inheritors. He decided to join a rival group of spiders, Team Amazing.[1]
He, Spider-Woman, and Ezekiel Sims were then sent to recruit Scarlet Spider, who was fighting against Daemos. Daemos then snapped Banner's spine, while the other Spiders escaped through the portal to Earth-13. His life-force was then feasted on during the Inheritor's feast.[2]

Spider-Man shortly before his death
Spider-Man was resurrected after Silk stabbed Morlun with the Totem Dagger. Many late spider-totems were brought back and those in Shathra's Hive were freed and teleported to Silk's reality. He aided the Spider-Army in holding back Shathra until she was defeated by Dr. Peter Parker.[3]
- Bruce's costume closely resembles the Webbed Suit of Spider-Man's Earth-96283 counterpart, with a different color scheme and pattern.
