Kidnapping of Tony Stark/A.I.M. Operative Controller
The Kidnapping of Tony Stark is an event where Obadiah Stane had the Ten Rings kidnap Tony Stark so he could assume position of Stark Industries.
Background[]
The Ten Rings bought Stark Industries weapons from the black market.[1]
Kidnapping[]
The Ten Rings kidnapped Tony Stark and held him in their encampment along with Ho Yinsen, and the two worked together to build a suit of armor for Stark to wear. He burst out through the door to the cell and tested his flamethrower on the Ten Rings insurgents who attempted to get in his way. Stark attempted to get to Yinsen, but the Ten Rings realized he helped Stark and killed him. Stark found the remainder of the Ten Rings' Stark Industries weapons and destroyed them before ultimately escaping the base. Stark then flew away, successfully escaping the base.[1]
Aftermath[]
Tony Stark decided to stop selling weapons, upsetting Obadiah Stane. Stark built a new suit of armor and got attacked by the Maggia, who were attempting to steal Stark Industries weapons to continue to sell. Stark became determined with a mission to destroy all the weapons which his company built, starting with those developed by the Maggia. With help from James Rhodes, Stark managed to destroy the Maggia's weapons, including their Flying Fortress.

He then turned his attention to destroying all weapons his company had sold, starting with his biggest buyer, A.I.M. Meanwhile, Obadiah Stane got frustrated with the decisions Stark was making and decided to partner with A.I.M. to recreate the armor which Stark used to escape. A.I.M. attempted to find a power source, but Stark foiled both attempts. Stane orchestrated an attack in order for A.I.M. to get the armor, but Stark foiled the attack. Stane stole Stark's Arc Reactor himself and arranged for Pepper Potts to be kidnapped, furthering Stark's anger and leading him to end A.I.M. once and for all. Stark then returned and found Stane using his Iron Monger Armor, created from the one Stark used. Stark defeated Stane and remembered Yinsen, embracing his role as Iron Man.[1]
