Kree Reapers

"These Kree are not from their home world. They're Reapers. They exist only to hunt. And to find humans for your makers. For thousands of years, they've remained in stasis, orbiting our solar system."
Hive to Daisy Johnson[src]

The Kree Reapers were a rogue vicious faction of the Kree who, seeking to build their own army, created the Inhumans by genetically modifying the DNA of humans.

Following the Kree Empire's termination of their project, the Reapers retreated to their satellite, placing themselves in stasis and spending thousands of years orbiting the solar system.

History[]

Creating Inhumans[]

"Kree Reapers brought me back to their ship and began their experiment. I didn't know it then, but the Reapers were using their own Kree blood to transform my DNA. Once they changed what I was, the Reapers took the final step, fulfilling the promise of what I would become."
Hive[src]

Thousands of years ago, a rogue faction of Kree known as the Reapers took it upon themselves to experiment on various alien races in an effort to produce bio-weapons to aid the Kree Empire in its many wars.[1] They had their greatest success on Earth, experimenting on humans to create the Inhuman race.

Among their subjects was a Mayan hunter-gatherer who they sought to make into the commander of their Inhuman Army. To this end, they gave him their blood before having him undergo Terrigenesis.[2] The Inhuman rebelled against his creators, however, leading the other Inhumans in a rebellion against the Reapers, who they banished from Earth.[3] The Reapers, confined to their satellite, were put into a state of suspended animation and launched into orbit around the solar system. The beacon intended to revive them remained in the possession of the Inhuman leader, who would go on to be called Alveus, or "Hive".[2]

Return to Earth[]

Alisha-vs-Kree

"So they're coming here to do what... clean up their mess? These are the only things that can defeat you. Those are your exact words."
"The Reapers are my greatest fear, but with your help, I believe we will... rip out their hearts."
Daisy Johnson and Hive[src]

In 2016, upon the activation of the beacon in Union City, the Kree Reapers arrived back on Earth, descending within their pod and began hunting for Inhumans. Splitting up, one of the Reapers proceeded to attack and kill Alisha Whitley. The other Reaper, however, came across Holden Radcliffe. He was then suddenly attacked by Daisy Johnson, who proceeded to break his spine. This incapacitated him, albeit without killing him, allowing Radcliffe to safely drain his blood, a key component for the creation of the Absolution Virus. However, Alphonso Mackenzie destroyed the Kree with a Splinter Bomb, so as to stop its DNA from being harvested by Radcliffe.

Meanwhile, the Kree Reaper that previously killed Alisha Whitley found and confronted Hive inside a church. The Reaper noted that they should not have chosen him to lead the Inhumans as he attacked him. Although Hive was able to use Grant Ward's training to dodge and deflect the Reaper's attacks, he could not physically overpower the Reaper. When the Reaper began beating him down and claiming that he and the Inhumans were a failed experiment, Hive respond him that "sometimes the greatest miracles happens by accident", before using his powers to dissolve the Reaper's skull before dropping its corpse on the ground. Hive later removed the Kree's heart and used his blood for the creation of his virus.[2]
