Picture Segment Description SCENE 1 Gordon, Bob, and Susan find that Hooper's Store is closed, and observe several packages on the doorstep. Susan, having come from the bakery, overheard that Mr. Hooper's sister had a cake made for him. The packages at the door must be presents, ergo, it must be Mr. Hooper's birthday. They decide to give him a surprise party. When Mr. Hooper shows up, they pretend not to know that it's his birthday, which offends him. Insert Scanimate Films #10
(First: Episode 0134) Muppets An Anything Muppet boy meets Alphabet O'Malley, whose full name consists of twenty-six first names, each one starting with a different letter of the alphabet.
(First: Episode 0135) Cartoon A goat discusses the letter "G". A man comes by to also talk about G, but rather than point out that "goat" is a G word, he observes the grass. Disgusted, the goat butts the man out of the way.
(First: Episode 0085) SCENE 2 Susan sets up a table in the yard, and Bob hangs some lanterns. Big Bird has a present for Mr. Hooper, but he doesn't think it's very good. Mr. Hooper comes outside to clean his store sign, and everyone suggests to Big Bird that he buy something from Hooper's Store so that the others can finish decorating the table without Mr. Hooper seeing them. (First: Episode 0085) SCENE 3 Big Bird tries to remember what he wanted to buy at Hooper's Store. He asks for five soda bottles, which, as Mr. Hooper points out, can be arranged in any way. Celebrity Jim Nabors counts from one to twenty, demonstrating soft and loud.
(First: Episode 0150) SCENE 4 Mr. Hooper grows impatient with Big Bird and his arranging of the bottles, so he goes outside, at which point the gang is ready to surprise him with a party. He's elated with all the gifts including a poem Big Bird has written about his store. Everyone sings "Happy Birthday to You." Cartoon "The Story of A": A witch tells bored kids a story about the letter A involving an ant's apple getting stolen by an archer.

(First: Episode 0006) Muppets Herbert Birdsfoot and Grover talk about "AN" words. Herbert demonstrates the words themselves, while Grover provides visual aids. The first word they talk about is RAN. While Herbert talks about how to make the word, Grover keeps running around the scene until he tires himself out. Cartoon A man creates an avalanche on the letter A.

SCENE 5 Gordon asks some kids to point out the triangles and the circles on the construction doors, and has them sorted first by shape, then by size. Film "Round": A live-action film set to a lively soundtrack shows circles in every-day life, including Coca-Cola bottle caps, moving wheels, yo-yos, bubbles, and balloons.

Susan gives him a carton of vanilla fudge ice cream, which he doesn't want at first. When she says she added some spinach sauce and sand, it makes him want some. She says she also added some pickle syrup, which makes him want more, and finally chocolate-covered seaweed, making him want the most. Cartoon A man displays the capital and lowercase A, and explains what an alligator is.
