Stirling captain Chris Aitken leads the celebrations

Stirling were the ones who could celebrate at Excelsior Stadium

Stirling Albion won promotion to Division One and relegated Airdrie United after a fine performance in their play-off final second leg.

Robert Snodgrass powered home a header from a David Bingham chip after just five minutes and glanced in a header from a Chris Aitken free kick.

Stuart Taylor slid home a reply after goalkeeper Myles Hogarth had parried.

Stewart Devine volleyed in for Stirling and Kevin McDonald deflected effort was not enough for Airdrie.

It meant that the part-time visitors, who had been 2-0 at half-time in the first leg, had completed an impressive comeback.
