Ex-France captain Pelous to quit
Pelous captained France 42 times
Fabien Pelous, France's most capped player, has announced he is to retire at the end of the season.
The former France captain earned a record 118 caps between 1995 and 2007, quitting the international scene after the 2007 World Cup.
"After careful thought, I felt it was time for me to go," said the 35-year-old Toulouse lock.
In a glittering career, Pelous won two Heineken Cups with Toulouse and four Grand Slams with France.
Pelous, who began his professional career in 1995 with Dax before moving to Toulouse two years later, had initially planned to quit last year to enter local politics.
But he had a change of heart and stayed on for an extra year, during which time he also took up a coaching role with the French 'A' team.
