Huckerby makes Man City move
Huckerby (r) scored only six times for Leeds United
Darren Huckerby has completed a 2.5m move to Manchester City from Leeds.
The 24-year-old striker has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Maine Road after agreeing personal terms then passing a medical.
City will pay an additional fee to Leeds depending on appearances and the move was completed in time for Huckerby to make his debut against Charlton.
"I tried to get him twice in the summer but was told he was not available. Obviously, Leeds signing Robbie Keane has changed that," Royle explained.

"He is still a player with enormous potential. He has extreme pace and can play with our other three strikers.
"Hopefully he can give us the spark we need to send us climbing up the table."
Royle is also hoping to sign Northern Ireland international Steve Lomas from West Ham.
Lomas left City for Upton Park nearly four years ago, and Royle is hoping to tie up a deal.
He said: "I have made enquiries about Steve, but that's all it is at the moment. No deal has been agreed and nothing is likely to happen in the next 24 hours."
Huckerby had been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis during his disappointing 16 months at Elland Road.
And Robbie Keane's arrival saw him slip further behind Mark Viduka, Alan Smith and Michael Bridges in David O'Leary's pecking order up front.
The former Coventry striker scored six times for Leeds but only made 14 starts, more often coming on as a substitute.
