BBC Sport - Football - Chris Kirkland hopes to resume Leicester City loan

Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland hopes to resume his loan spell at Leicester City after making a quicker than expected recovery from a back injury.
Kirkland joined the Foxes last week but suffered a back spasm in training and returned to the Latics for treatment.
The 29-year-old told the Evening Post: "I think the loan was going to be cancelled but thank goodness that is no longer the case.
"Hopefully I can get down later this week and prove my fitness."
Kirkland was due to make his debut against Nottingham Forest last Monday but now looks like making his first appearance in Saturday's home game against Doncaster Rovers.
Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson had said the club were waiting to see if it was worth Kirkland resuming his loan stint.
"We have him until the start of January so we have five games to go. But I don't know - we will see when he can start training," Eriksson said.
"He will need at least one week's training before he can play again."
Kirkland, who has one England cap, has been plagued by back problems during his career.
