ULSTER'S ALL-TIME TOP 10 HOTSHOTS

Paddy Bradley

Paddy Bradley 16-191 (239) Oisin McConville 11-197 (230) Peter Canavan 9-191 (218) Paddy Doherty 15-159 (204) Peter Donohoe 17-133 (184) Steven McDonnell 16-136 (184) Sean O'Neill 17-125 (176) Charlie Gallagher 10-142 (172) Sean O'Connell 11-118 (151) Ronan Carolan (Cavan) 2-138 (144)

Derry's Paddy Bradley is the all-time Ulster hot-shot after his stunning performance this season and in particular against Monaghan.

The Glenullin man has leapfrogged over two legends this season to claim the number one spot with 16 goals and 191 points.

He started the 2009 campaign on 13-177 and quickly usurped Peter Canavan as the second highest Ulster hotshot in history with a goal and three points in the quarter-final game against Monaghan.

A solitary point in the defeat by Tyrone and two goals and eight points in the second round qualifying game against Monaghan saw Bradley flying past Armagh's points machine Oisin McConville's all-time record of 11-197 (230 points).

Two more points in the defeat by Donegal in the third round qualifier sees Bradley now sitting on 239 points with Armagh's Steven McDonnell a distant sixth on 16-136 having only garnered five points this season.

Bradley made his Derry debut back in 2000 season. His average is also the highest from the top group, with around five points per game.

Meanwhile, since the great Cavan sharp-shooter Peter Donahoe performed his heroics in the middle of the Breffni boys incredible run in the mid-Nineties, only three players have hit the top three years in succession.

From 1948 to 1950 Donahoe topped the poll and added a fourth top marksman award in 1955.

The last to achieve three-in-a-row was Fermanagh's Rory Gallagher at the turn of the century which included 4-12 in 2002.

The now-retired Canavan, also notched up three-in-a-row from 1994 to 1996 which put him at the top of the scorers' list with 218 until he was usurped by Oisin McConville last year.

Of course, with McConville retiring at the end of the 2008 season having failed to register a point, Bradley has raced to the top of the tree scoring 3-14 against Monaghan to take him to an impressive 239 points, eight more than the Armagh sharp-shooter.
