Wrestling fans should rejoice. Finally, THQ has taken control of its wrestling series on the PlayStation like never before. THQ revealed today that it is working with the renowned Japanese developer Yukes, which develops the most respected wrestling series in Japan, Toukon Retsuden, to develop its new, currently unnamed WWF wrestling title.

The news is a wish come true for wrestling fans, and particularly those who play Japanese wrestling games. For those who lost faith in THQ in 1998 can rest assured that this new game will be good, if not great. THQ's last wrestler, WCW Thunder, was a best-selling but horrible playing game, and despite its platinum retail status (more than 1 million copies sold), it may have been the worst wrestler THQ has ever made.

Currently the Retsuden series is in its fourth iteration. THQ will utilize the new engine, and update, modify and customize the game for the North American market. This WWF game is due out in the first quarter of 2000.
