Change[1] (チェンジ[2][3]Chenji?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. When the player obtains this power-up, its swaps power-ups between two players.

Changes are found inside bubbles. They are depicted as blue circles with white arrows circling around each other.
Overview[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the lock-on game Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Change is one of the power-ups exclusive to the Competition Mode. In gameplay, each Change item is inside a bubble that floats and rotates around one point in a Zone with a Ring for example. When the player collects a Change, the power-ups possessed by the two players competing in Competition Mode at the time will be swapped between them. However, Change will not work if the other player does not have a Ring, Power Sneakers or Lead Sneakers in use at the same time.
