Stadion Górnika Łęczna – stadium description

The stadium built beside Łęczna's main avenue owes its high standard to redevelopment in early 2000s, cofinanced by the local coal mine. First came the western main stand, which is actually created by two separate stands on both sides of the administration building.

It was then followed by the north end, the only uncovered part of the stadium, traditionally dedicated to most vocal supporters, who have almost 1,500 seats for their use. Finally, the new east stand was delivered to enclose the stadium fully. It only has three grandstands, because a sports hall and hotel are placed directly behind the south goal.

Upon completion it was one of the very best stadiums in Poland, given as example for other cities to follow. Cosy aesthetics combined yellow brickwork and green steel, encompassing the colours of Górnik Łęczna. From 2003 it had floodlights and in 2006 under-soil heating was added.
