Morenia
The Morenia was an underworld casino cruiser that operated in the galaxy during the Imperial Era.
Description[]
The Morenia was a casino cruiser built at the Gallofree Yards and was one of the last ships the yards ever made before dissolving. The ship had double reinforced hull and the refreshers onboard the Morenia included Sittana marble.[1]
History[]
Sometime before 3 ABY,[2] the protocol droid EY-E9 was tasked with increasing the ships profits. To achieve this, EY spaced the captain along with most of the crew. A few organic crewmembers remained but most were replaced by droids. EY proceeded to turn the Morenia into an underworld casino ship where it spent much of its time in hyperspace in order to avoid the Galactic Empire.[1]
During its operation, the Morenia hosted a number of performers including Mo-Do Avarakis, Chermig Malada, Magrat Felunk. The Electro-twang belter Porcelli Ga played her first show aboard the Morenia.[1]
In 3 ABY[2], the ship hosted an exclusive Kessel Sabacc tournament where the buy-in was over 700,000 credits. The prize for the game was the coordinates to the moon Okala Five. Governor Thorden forced the scoundrel Kay Vess to enter the tournament and win the prize. Vess, with the help of her BX-series droid commando companion ND-5, was able to decrypt rendezvous coordinates in the Anoat sector and board the Morenia. During the tournament a pirate group called the Starfallers attacked the ship and stole the map to Okala Five.[1]
