Elimtia - Eliminating Dementia Through Prevention

What do we want? 

Imagine a world free from Alzheimer's disease and dementia. This is my goal. 

I am Tanya Franks, a British actress. At the top of the page, you can see me with my step-father, Derek, who had Alzheimer’s Disease for 11 years, and my mother, Anne, who was his 24/7 carer for 9 and a half of those years. Due to our experience as a family living with dementia, and also through close friends having similar experiences, my non-profit company Elimtia has been created. 

With more than 970,000 people living with dementia in the UK alone, it is now our biggest killer. This disease was first diagnosed by neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer in 1906, and here we are close to 120 years later. I am not content to sit and wait for a cure, we need to pull together and explore if prevention could be the actual remedy.
