     Charlotte Augusta Hanover, Princess of Wales was born on 7 January 1796 at Carlton House, Carlton House Terrace, St. James's, London, England^G.³ She was the daughter of George IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Karoline Amelie Elisabeth Prinzessin von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel.¹ She married Leopold I Georg Christian Friedrich, Roi des Belges, son of Franz I Friedrich Anton Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and Auguste Karoline Sophie Gräfin Reuss zu Lobenstein und Ebersdorf, on 2 May 1816 at Carlton House, Carlton House Terrace, St. James's, London, England^G.⁴ She died on 6 November 1817 at age 21 at Claremont House, Esher, Surrey, England^G, from internal haemorrhaging after child birth.⁵ She was buried on 19 November 1817 at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹
     She gained the title of Princess Charlotte of Wales.⁶

Claude George Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne was born on 14 March 1855 at Lowndes Square, Belgravia, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 13th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Frances Dora Smith.³ He married Nina Cecilie Cavendish-Bentinck, daughter of Reverend Charles William Frederick Cavendish-Bentinck and Caroline Louisa Burnaby, on 16 July 1881 at Petersham, London, England^G.³ He died on 7 November 1944 at age 89 at Glamis, Angus, Scotland^G.¹ He was buried on 10 November 1944 at Glamis, Angus, Scotland^G.
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1876 and 1882 in the 2nd Life Guards.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Forfarshire between 1904 and 1936.¹ He succeeded as the 14th Lord Lyon and Glamis [S., 1606] on 16 February 1904.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Bowes of Streatlam Castle, co. Durnam, and of Lunedale, co.      From 16 July 1881, her married name became Bowes-Lyon.
