Captain Charles Joseph Wrey was born on 20 December 1828.2 He is the son of Reverend John Wrey and Ann Burnett Yeomans.1 He married, firstly, Caroline Rashleigh Archer, daughter of Reverend Charles Harward Archer, on 9 May 1867.2 He married, secondly, Henrietta Jane Aldridge, daughter of Admiral Charles Aldridge, on 21 October 1875.2 He died on 23 August 1891 at age 62.2
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.2 He lived at Stoodley Knowle, Torquay, Devon, England.2
