Colonel Francis John Biddulph1

Colonel Francis John Biddulph was born on 18 August 1896.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Nicholas Trafalgar Biddulph and Marion Flora Campbell Warburton.2 He married, firstly, Una Dorothy Kendall Tancock, daughter of Colonel Osborne Kendall Tancock and Theodosia Louisa Hartnell, on 28 March 1922.1 He married, secondly, Shelia Violet Biddulph, daughter of Major Hugh Wray Biddulph and Violet Martyn, on 29 June 1974.1
     He was educated at Dover College, Dover, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1915, in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was educated at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Mechanical Engineers (F.I.Mech.E.)1 He gained the rank of acting Brigadier in 1941, and again in 1945.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1941.1 He retired from the military in 1946, with the rank of Colonel.1 He was employed by the Ministry of Supply between 1948 and 1953.1 As of 1976, Colonel Francis John Biddulph lived at Fortal, 6 Seymour Road, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1
