Samuel Morley, 1st Baron Hollenden was born on 3 July 1845.1 He was the son of Samuel Morley and Rebekah Maria Hope.2 He married Laura Marianne Birch, daughter of Reverend G. Royds Birch, on 6 March 1884.1 He died on 18 February 1929 at age 83.1
He was also known as Samuel Hope Morley.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of the County of London in 1893.1 He was senior partner of I and R Morley.1 He was Deputy Governor of the Bank of England between 1901 and 1902.1 He held the office of Governor of the Bank of England between 1903 and 1904.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the County of London.1 He was created 1st Baron Hollenden, of Leigh, co.
