Web Games - TV Tropes

  • ️Sat Jan 23 2010

Web games, also known as browser games, are games played over the web. Not to be confused with Freeware Games, which are distributed for free and act like regular computer programs. Web games are played directly through the web browser, often (but not always) with the help of a plugin. These games usually are made in Adobe Flash, Unity, or HTML5.

Keep in mind that with Adobe Flash's EOL making Flash unable to run on most browsers, you will need something else to play the games made with Adobe Flash, such as Flashpoint or Ruffle.

Please only list games here which do not belong to a specific web game-based genre or engine. As a rule of thumb, if the work's description says that it is a "Flash game" or something similar, it should go to the appropriate subindex and not here. This page should mostly list standard HTML-based games.
