Bloo, Frankie, and Madame Foster are tangled up in a chaotic series of events when Frankie wins tickets to the premiere of a new action movie starring Rod Tango.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Bloo constantly misnames Boomer, calling him "Bloomer", "Bammer", "Bonno", and "Groomer".
  • Breakfast in Bed: Just after the first commercial break, one of the ways Bloo tries to get Frankie to take him to the movies with her is by making her breakfast in bed. Bloo's idea of "Breakfast" is a half-eaten cheeseburger, candy, Oreo cookies, and one fried egg. He also brings Frankie a phone book and a moist towelette. Frankie immediately sees through Bloo's ruse.
  • Continuity Nod: In the third act, when Bloo explains his plight to Jackie Khones, he compares it to "that dumb trip to Europe that we never took".
  • Drowning My Sorrows: A TV-Y7 variant; the third act begins with Bloo drinnking a large quantity of apple juice when Boomer and Madame Foster go to the movies together, leaving him at Foster's.
  • Handbag of Hurt: Madame Foster hits Bloo with her purse when he tries to take one of her tickets at the premiere of Out of Ammo II: Miami's Nights.
  • Just One Extra Ticket: Frankie wins two tickets for Out of Ammo II: Miami's Nights when she wins a radio contest that Bloo has been trying to win. Both Mac and Bloo try to get Frankie to take either of them with her, but when Bloo disses Rod in front of Frankie, she chooses Mac. When Mr. Herriman makes Frankie work on the night of the premiere, he gives her tickets away to Boomer, a radio imaginary friend who helped Frankie win the contest, and he goes with Madame Foster because she can drive.
  • Mobile Shrubbery: Bloo manages to sneak into the theater where Out of Ammo II: Miami's Nights by hiding in a trash can.
  • Ocular Gushers: Eduardo cries this way when Bloo convinces him that Frankie is taking Mac to the movies with her because she hates imaginary friends.
  • Noodle Incident: Jackie Khones saved Rod Tango's life, hence why he gets Rod to do him a favor (namely getting him and Bloo tickets for Last's Summer's Wine). Just how Jackie saved Rod's life is never revealed.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: This episode's title is a reference to The Beatles song, "Ticket to Ride". Further cementing the connection, just before the first commercial break, Bloo tells Mac "She's got a ticket to Rod, and I do care!"
  • Potty Emergency: Bloo has one when he drinks a lot of soda to pass the time waiting to hear a chime for a radio contest where the grand prize is two tickets to see a new movie starring Rod Tango. He gets Frankie to listen for the chime, and just as he leaves, the chime goes off and Frankie calls the station. This of course, sets the episode's main plot in motion.
  • Precocious Crush: Eight-year-old Mac has one on 22-year-old Frankie, and in this episode, the reason he wants Frankie to choose him to go to the movies with her is because it would feel like they're going on a date together.
  • Radio Contest: Early in this episode, one is held, where the prize is two tickets to Out of Ammo II: Miami's Nights. Bloo enters the contest in the hopes of winning it, getting Boomer to play the radio station. However, when he leaves to use the bathroom, he gets Frankie to listen to the chime for him. Frankie hears the chime, calls the radio station, and wins the contest.
  • Take That!: The juice boxes that Bloo drinks from say "Almost Juice", as a reference to real-life juice brands that feature 10% juice and artificial flavors and preservatives.
