Rex and Six celebrate their birthday and Six has a flashback remembering how he originally found and rescued Rex buried in a pile of rubble.
Tropes:
- Birthday Episode: This episode celebrates Rex and Six's birthday.
- Bloodier and Gorier: Six and White's fight has Six draw blood from White.
- A Day in the Limelight: Six gets much focus as this episode reveals how he met Rex.
- Mechanical Abomination: Rex's full EVO form makes its only appearance in this episode, and it resembles a zombified Humongous Mecha rather than a living creature. When Six strikes a lethal blow against it, it launches him away using a Rocket Fist that also contains Rex's real body, leaving itself to be destroyed by White Knight's ordinance. Absorbing too much Nanites would cause Rex to turn back into this creature, which may have been its intention.
- Origins Episode: This episode shows how Six met Rex and how he came to work for Providence.
- Take a Third Option: Lampshaded by Dr. Holiday when she thinks there must be a better way of handling EVOs rather than capturing or destroying them. Thankfully, Rex came along.
- We Used to Be Friends: Six and White Knight used to be partners, until their disagreement over White Knight wanting to vivisect Rex to reverse-engineer his EVO cure caused them to fall out.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Rex releases Bobo from his cage, reasoning that Bobo being able to talk makes him undeserving of being locked up like any other animal. Six and White Knight disagree.
