Tropes found in this episode include:
- Adaptational Villainy: In Joel's final reinterpretation of Skizz's derailed build chain, it was the prince who gave Snow White the poisoned apple, instead of her evil step-mother disguised as an old hag.
- Ambiguous Syntax: Gem's guess prompt for "Jimmy in a beanstalk" refers to the person being trapped inside the beanstalk, but Impulse builds it so that it's the person climbing the beanstalk.
- Beanstalk Parody: Three of the six build chains are based on Jack and the Beanstalk — from Jack being allergic to the beanstalk, to Jack actually being the beanstalk, to the goose laying rotten eggs instead of golden eggs.
- Company Cross-References: Joel's prompt is "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but all of the dwarfs are ImpulseSV", a nod to Impulse's dwarf-themed builds in Hermitcraft Season 9.
- Composite Character: In the third round, everything goes From Bad to Worse for Impulse as he goes from misidentifying fairy tale characters to mixing them up entirely.
- For his Sleeping Beauty build in Skizz's build chain, Impulse adds seven armour stands of people in the background to represent the seven dwarfs from Snow White, as well as the poisoned apple the princess ate next to the bed.
- In Joel's otherwise perfect build chain of "Snow White and the Seven Impulses", Impulse somehow guesses the princess to be surrounded by seven shorter "dwarfs" to be Cinderella.
Gem: Cinderella is blonde! […] What is wrong with you?!
[…]
Joel: How could you get the 'dwarf' part, but not Snow White?!
Impulse: […] In a cursed world, they are the same person.
- Does Not Like Spam: Due to Impulse's mix-up mishaps, Joel ends up guessing his build in Skizz's build chain to be Snow White hating apples so much that she throws herself out the window when the Prince Charmless offers her one.
- Fractured Fairy Tale: The episode is themed around cursed fairy tales, resulting in increasingly strange reinterpretations of classic fairy tales.
- Horse of a Different Color: Gem's build starts off with Red Riding Hood riding a wolf, but is soon reinterpreted to be Princess Ariel riding a mouse, and later, a whale.
- Irony: Despite suggesting the build theme of Fractured Fairy Tales in the first place, Impulse's knowledge of fairy tales proves to be quite lacking, consider how many build chains quickly go off course whenever he steps into the picture. The fact that he's a father in real life and thus should be more familiar with fairy tales than others only amplifies the Epic Failure.
Impulse: (narrating in editing) So you thought the last fairy tale brain fart I had [mixing up Sleeping Beauty and Snow White] was pretty epic? Well, you just wait — it gets worse.
- Plant Person: Jimmy's initial build is of Jack being the beanstalk in the story, resulting in a human head with limbs poking out of the giant beanstalk.
- Plot Allergy: Grian's initial prompt is of Jack having an allergic reaction to the beanstalk, resulting in his hands and face swelling up.
- Sadly Mythtaken: Lampshaded fairy tale variant; Gem points out that Little Red Riding Hood doesn't usually involve any castles, but her initial build does because it's supposed to be cursed anyway.
- Shout-Out:
- Three of the six initial build prompts are based on Jack and the Beanstalk. The rest are based on Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White (via its Disney animated adaptation).
- Since the builds in the episode are themed around Fractured Fairy Tales, several people's depictions of fairy tale characters are obviously inspired by their counterparts in the Disney Animated Canon. Justified due to how widely known the Disney characters are, which helps mitigate miscommunication throughout the game.
- Tripping Before the Finish Line: Joel's build chain is near-perfect and would have made it all the way through if Impulse hadn't mixed up his fairy tales at the final guess.
- Viewer Species Confusion: In-universe.
- In Gem's build chain, Impulse reinterprets the wolf in her initial build to be a mouse, which follows along until Jimmy's final guess that the character in question is Mumbo as a whale.
- In Impulse's build chain, the goose is soon reinterpreted to be a stork, and finally, a pelican.
- Visible Odor: In Impulse's build chain, the disgusting, rotten "egg" is ubiquitously depicted to be emitting stink fumes, either via campfire smoke particles or green/lime stained glass.
- Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: Almost literally in Skizz's build chain, in which Prince Charming suddenly finds that he's in the wrong tower and thus unable to awake Sleeping Beauty from her cursed sleep.
