Plankton turns everyone at the Krusty Krab into babies.

"Goo Goo Gas" contains examples of:

• Abusive Parents: Played for Laughs when Plankton gets the idea for the Goo Goo Gas upon seeing a mother take away her baby's bottle and proudly state that he's so tiny and helpless that she can take his formula whenever she wanted and he couldn't do a thing about it.

  Plankton: Something about that woman reminds me of my mother.

• Baby Morph Episode: The episode revolves around Plankton turning everyone into babies to steal the formula.
• Cash Lure: Plankton does this to Mr. Krabs with a trail of pennies.
• Contrived Coincidence: While wondering how to render Mr. Krabs helpless, Plankton overhears a mother calling her baby small, tiny and helpless while specifically noting she could take away their formula, AKA the one thing Plankton is after, without them being able to do anything about it, giving him the idea to turn Mr. Krabs into an infant.
• Did I Say That Out Loud: As SpongeBob goes to open the door to the Krusty Krab, Plankton notes to himself that his plan is going perfectly with Mr. Krabs a helpless baby and that the Krabby Patty formula will be his. He then just realises the sponge clearly just heard everything he said, and SpongeBob calls the police on him.
• Fountain of Youth: Plankton's Goo Goo Gas turns people into babies.
• Gesundheit: When Plankton sprays SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs with Senior Citizen Spray, the following exchange occurs:

• Glad I Thought of It: After Plankton complains to Karen about his plan being foiled by SpongeBob.

  Karen: Listen carefully. Spray...

  Plankton: Yes.

  Karen: Sponge...

  Plankton: Uh-huh.

  Karen: Too!

  Plankton: Now you're just talking gibberish. What I really need is to spray Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob.

  Karen: That's just what I...

  Plankton: I don't wanna hear anymore of your loony schemes, Karen. I've got work to do!

• Grievous Bottley Harm: Baby Krabs smashes Plankton repeatedly with the Krabby Patty formula.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: After successfully creating Goo Goo Gas and turning everyone in the Krusty Krab into babies, Plankton ends up getting exposed to it and turns microscopic.
• Incredible Shrinking Man: The Goo Goo Gas has this effect on Plankton, rather than turning him into a baby, after the container explodes.
• Literal-Minded: Plankton, who's usually a smart guy, thinks that baby powder is made from powdered babies.
• Magic Pants: Not only does the people who become babies when they are sprayed by Plankton's baby gas magically get diapers, the diapers grow with them whenever they are sprayed again and turn back into adults.
• Needlework Is for Old People: One attempt to turn SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs into babies turns them into seniors instead, and SpongeBob decides to take up knitting. This gives Mr. Krabs the idea to join him so that together, they can knit a net to catch Plankton in. When they successfully knit the net and catch Plankton in it, they hang it out like a piñata so the other seniors can beat him up for calling them old.
• No Ending: The episode ends with everyone still as babies, with no explanation on how they returned back to their original ages after the episode.
• Paper-Thin Disguise: At the beginning of the episode, Plankton is disguised as a pepper shaker. Mr. Krabs catches him and points out that Plankton's disguise has his initial on it, which Plankton admits was obvious.
• Plot-Relevant Age-Up: Plankton's attempt to turn Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob into babies ends up turning them into seniors, making him realize that he created "Senior Citizen Spray".
• Pepper Sneeze: Exaggerated; Mr. Krabs uses an entire shaker of pepper on SpongeBob to make him sneeze Plankton hard enough to launch him back to the Chum Bucket.
• Shout-Out: The scene where Plankton turns everyone at the Krusty Krab into babies is a reference to a scene from Sky High (2005) where Royal Pain turns everyone at the homecoming dance into babies.
• Title Drop: The title is the name of the gas that Plankton creates.

SpongeBob is enrolled in an exchange program with a snooty French chef from a high-end restaurant.

"Le Big Switch" contains examples of:

• Allergic to Love: SpongeBob blows heart shaped kisses that Squidward swallows and immediately chokes on.
• Distinction Without a Difference: When Squidward incredulously realizes that Mr. Krabs sold him to the repo men, he denies it and says he "bartered" Squidward so they wouldn't take Mr. Krabs' kneecaps.
• Dressed to Cook: Spongebob is enrolled in an exchange program with a snooty French chef and wears a chef hat along with a fake mustache.
• "Everybody Laughs" Ending: For SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs.
• French Accordion: The title card, as well as the music playing in the fancy restaurant Spongebob now works in are almost entirely played by accordions.
• French Jerk: Le Schnook and the head chef at the fancy restaurant.
• How Do You Say: "I certainly did not exchange my top sous chef for a...how you say...comedian!"
• I Do Not Like Green Eggs and Ham: The chef that SpongeBob works for does not like his Krabby Patties... until he tastes one and realizes how good they are.
• Manchild: Squidward insults a customer in the Krusty Krab, and the customer starts crying like a 5-year old, and SpongeBob starts cradling him like one, and uses his Krabby Patty as a baby bottle.

  SpongeBob: The Krusty clientèle needs to be cuddled and treated with respect.

• Mean Boss: The head chef verbally abuses the other chefs when their food does not meet his standards.
• My God, What Have I Done?: Mr. Krabs does this when he is left bankrupt after trading away SpongeBob for a fancy chef.
• Not Now, We're Too Busy Crying Over You: Happens when Mr. Krabs is crying in despair after realizing that it was a mistake to exchange SpongeBob for another chef, just as SpongeBob returns.

  Mr. Krabs: Oh, I've been such a fool! I turned away SpongeBob, the best fry cook I ever had, and it cost me everything!

  SpongeBob: (offscreen) Mr. Krabs?

  Mr. Krabs: Oh, I can still hear his sweet little voice.

  SpongeBob: Mr. Kra-a-abs?!

  Mr. Krabs: Okay, now I'm scared.

  SpongeBob: MR. KRABS!!!

  Mr. Krabs: Darn his cursed mocking voice! I... (turns and notices SpongeBob) SpongeBob?

  SpongeBob: Ahoy, Mr. Krabs!

• One-Note Cook: SpongeBob demonstrates this when he tries cooking in a fancy restaurant and can't produce anything but a Krabby Patty. Even when trying to fry up a single egg, it immediately changes into a Krabby Patty.
• Platonic Kissing: Upon arriving, Le Schnook states that he finds both Mr. Krabs and Squidward "disgusting", but that his culture dictates that he must kiss them. He then kisses both Mr. Krabs and Squidward on the cheeks, spitting in disgust after doing so.

  Mr. Krabs: Well...he's just as affectionate as the boy.

  Squidward: But the surly attitude he has is a step in the right direction!

• Ridiculous Repossession: Squidward gets repossessed alongside all of Mr. Krabs's belongings.
• Shockingly Expensive Bill: Le Schnook gives Mr. Krabs a massive bill that forces Mr. Krabs into bankruptcy due to the chef's extravagant demands.
• The Voice: Pearl's appearance in this episode is a speaking cameo, where she calls Mr. Krabs about supposed burglars invading the house.
