Frobot is a Puzzle Shooter game by Fugazo.
The year is 0001 AH (After Humans), and the world is populated by robots. The planet is controlled by the BotBlocker Corporation, which seeks to achieve world peace... via planetary destruction. To combat this, a new robot was built. His name is Frobot, and with his power stored in five lovely lady-bots (Sassy Brass, Jada Jett, Foxy Proxy, Violet Reel, and Astella Bust), he seeks to save the world... once he and they have boogied down.
However, the forces of evil aren't content to wait for him to finish partying down first. So, while Frobot is on his way to them, some robo-villains decide to crash the party and abduct his girlfriends. With four of five of them kidnapped (Sassy Brass managed to hide when they showed up), Frobot has been stripped of his powers. Now he needs to groove his way through multiple challenging levels in order to rescue them.
The game was released on December the 20th, 2010.
Frobot contains examples of:
- After the End: The opening cutscene suggests that humans have been extinct or missing for around a year due to unknown reasons.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: Frobot. One hit from an enemy or stage hazard's enough to blow him up.
- One-Word Title: Frobot, of course.
- Pinball Projectile: Energy shots fired by Frobot and enemies bounce off walls.
- Player-Guided Missile: The Jive Stalker is a missile that follows the Wiimote/mouse cursor (depending on what you're playing the game on) wherever it is.
- Protagonist Title: Naturally.
- Pun-Based Title: (A)Fro + Robot = Frobot.
- Robot Names: Of the something-bot variety, of course, with Frobot.
- Tank-Tread Mecha: Frobot, his lady-bots, all robot mooks that aren't turrets, pretty much the cast of the game.
- Three-Quarters View: The game is viewed from above.
- Video Game Dashing: Frobot can dash forward a few feet when the appropriate button's pressed.
