- ️Thu Sep 05 2024
It is a collection of stories in which the members of hololive English play a part.
Through streams, animations, and songs wrought anew, immerse yourself in fresh narratives woven from myriad realms beyond...
ENigmatic Recollection is a multimedia project featuring the English branch of hololive. The project primarily takes place in a Minecraft roleplay server. The project was unveiled on August 23, 2024 via a trailer. An introduction to the project was streamed
on August 30, 2024 and officially began the following day. The project involves all four then-current generations of hololive English — Myth, Promise, Advent, and Justice.
One fateful day, the talents of hololive English find themselves in the magical world of Libestal with no memory of how they got there. In fact, they have no memories of their past lives at all. On top of all that, Libestal is being threatened by mysterious creatures known as the Stains. The girls are forced to help defend Libestal against the Stains and, in the process of doing so, regain some of their powers. And so begins a tale where the girls try to live their present lives in Libestal, recover memories of their past lives, and uncover the secrets of this mysterious world.
The members are sorted into one of Libestal's four guilds, each one representing specific virtues.
- Scarlet Wand, Guild of Curiosity & Knowledge: Gawr Gura, Ceres Fauna, Shiori Novella, Nerissa Ravencroft, Cecilia Immergreen
- Amber Coin, Guild of Glory & Ambition: Takanashi Kiara, Nanashi Mumei, Hakos Baelz, Raora Panthera
- Cerulean Cup, Guild of Philanthropy & Devotion: Ninomae Ina'nis, IRyS, Ouro Kronii, Koseki Bijou, Gigi Murin
- Jade Sword, Guild of Courage & Grit: Mori Calliope, Amelia Watson, Fuwawa Abyssgard, Mococo Abyssgard, Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame
The first chapter began on August 31, 2024. Alongside introducing the world, the chapter focuses primarily on Myth with the main dungeons themed after each of their members. It was accompanied with an original song and MV, "START AGAIN", which acts as Chapter 1's theme song.
Chapter 1 Playlists
Following a recap of Chapter 1 and later the Chapter 1 REWIND
series, it was announced that Chapter 2, also known as ENigmatic Recollection -The Chains of Fate-, would start in early May. The introduction
to the event was streamed on May 2, while the event itself will begin on May 3. It was accompanied by Chapter 2's theme song, "MONSTER"
.
ENigmatic Recollection provides examples of:
- Accidental Proposal: This is what starts the Gigi/Ame romance subplot, as when the former gives Ame a diamond by mistake, she asks if this means they're married now
- Adaptation Expansion: The memories regained at the end of each dungeon further explores the lore of the hololive English talents, which, outside of their introductions, are usually downplayed.
- Alternate Universe: It is stated by the talents that the characters and memories should not be taken seriously as part of their present lore, but rather alternate versions of them.
- Amnesiac Dissonance: There's quite a few examples of this happening.
- The normally kind and mild-mannered Fauna becomes a greedy merchant who runs a borderline-predatory lottery.
- In the absence of someone like Fuwawa to rein her in, Mococo quickly becomes a boisterous, anxiety-riddled gambling addict constantly scrounging for money.
- Gigi is typically a loud, hot-headed chatterbox, but "Sir Gonathon G" is a dramatic but pure-hearted Knight in Shining Armor who cares deeply about "his" loved ones, almost to the point of posessiveness.
- Atop a Mountain of Corpses: Several other reapers appear near the end of Calli's memory, and after slashing them, she sits on the pile formed from their bodies.
- Baby Trap: Attempted by Nerissa on Elizabeth in order to prove that they're married. Kiara is not convinced one bit.
- Back-to-Back Badasses: In the Trailer video, Elizabeth and Cecilia can be seen standing by each other's back
as they face Stains from opposite directions.
- "Back to Camera" Pose: Among the nineteen members featured in the official poster, only Elizabeth (in the center) has her back turned while she's facing the viewer.
- Badass Cape: After defeating the Stain King, the girls all gain white capes to denote themselves as Libestal's chosen heroes. These capes appear on both their Minecraft avatars as well as their Live2D models.
- Bland-Name Product: FaunaMart and NanaEleven are expies of FamilyMart
and 7-Eleven
, respectively. For Bilingual Bonus points, NanaEleven is a Punny Name, as "nana" is Japanese for "seven".
- Brainwashed and Crazy:
- Bijou, by way of the Stain hat that she finds, which corrupts her into the Stain Princess.
- Mococo as well after she's tricked into wearing a Stain hat by Bijou.
- Most people who wear the Stain. Shiori shows no difference during the whole affair other than calling the hat her child.
- Bungled Suicide: When Shiori tries to tempt Gonathon to cheat on Jyonathan, Gonathon's response is to hang up and hurl himself into the sea to drown. Given that he already has water-breathing abilities from Gura's dungeon, he survives, and Shiori just calls him back and keeps going.
- Butt-Monkey: Several characters get the short end of the stick:
- Poor Gigi. Whether it's the other girls flirting with Ame, getting scammed, or not being taken seriously, nothing ever goes right for her. Taken to tragic extremes when Ame completely forgets about their relationship and marriage after the team recovers her memories, leaving Gigi completely heartbroken.
- Mococo gets put through the wringer for most of Chapter 1. For the first few days she's restless due to being subconsciously uneasy about being apart from Fuwawa and while she has fun with getting hopelessly addicted to the lottery, it's short-lived when a misunderstanding causes her to be falsely accused of putting a bounty on Nerissa's head, she gets chased out of Libestal due to said miscommunication and spends her days in exile until Cecilia shows up to take her case as a lawyer.
- Fauna. While her business practices are questionable, the reputation of FaunaMart is constantly in flux due to forces out of her control. From the moment it was established, most of girls immediately labeled it a scam. The day she opens up the lottery, Calli scams her out of tickets. And both her employees end up ruining her business' reputation. Nerissa's miscommunication with Mococo nearly gets FaunaMart into legal trouble and Mumei's Nana-11 is such a success that Mococo wants to torch FaunaMart. Hilariously, both situations happen when Fauna is offline, so she's often stuck picking up the pieces at the beginning of her streams.
- The Bus Came Back: After Bae's mysterious absence following Day 1, she finally made her return on Day 8, the Chapter 1 finale. She explains that she did not want to participate in the quest and was living out in the woods before being dragged back and forced to finish the questnote .
- Call-Back: The "Shenanigans in Libestal" voice packs make a few references to the original streams.
- A Scarlet Wand scholar is going through several rough patches, including a break-up with a lover. Gonathon understands that feeling for he has felt it himself, referring to him giving up on Jyonathan after she regains her Amelia Watson memories. He even directly references his "Pearl".
- Mococo tries to push for an Amber Coin bank teller to give her a loan not unlike how she demanded money from Nerissa. However, the bank teller refuses to give her a loan because they had heard of her escapades at the FaunaMart lottery.
- Calling Your Attacks: The tutorial instructs the girls to shout "revelation!" when they use their revelations. How consistently they do this depends on the girl, though.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: The four guilds all have a signature color, which appears on their guild hat and is used to mark the boundary of their territory. The Stains also have a distinctive palette of black and purple, and their minions wear Stain hats of the same colors.
- Con Woman: The two main shops both have different versions of this trope.
- Fauna's FaunaMart has had multiple accusations of being a scam business. Some of Fauna's questionable methods include: either selling items that can be obtained for free, making constant unsolicited telemarketing calls, or lulling those with gambling addictions into buying excessive lottery tickets. It's downplayed that while FaunaMart may offer unnecessary or expensive services, none of Fauna's services have been outright untruthful in what they disclose.
- Ultimately, however, it's Mumei's NanaEleven that ends up being the true scam. Through it, Mumei suckers people into doing transactions with free items, all the while handing them free lottery tickets with guaranteed winners, but with an unreadable fine print denoting that all lottery participants must surrender 10% of their income.
- Darkest Hour: Day 8. Right from the beginning everyone is on edge, as the Stain King is rapidly approaching the kingdom with a massive army for a final battle, but things really start going wrong with Bijou fully becomes the Stain Princess, spreading her corruption to several others and then using them to systemic sabotage and outright destroy Libestal's food supplies and general economy. The uncorrupted girls are quickly reduced to struggling to survive as they desperately search for food and supplies, and Calli, the only one capable of creating a cure for the corruption, is slowly becoming corrupted herself.
- Dark Is Evil: The Stains attacking and corrupting Libestal are pure black with purple eyes. Subverted when it turns out the Libestian king was the real villain, and sent the heroes to kill the Stain King because it was the only thing holding the world together. Then played straight when the Libestian king changes into his true form, a shadowy entity similar to the Stains.
- Death Is a Slap on the Wrist: Given that it's a Minecraft roleplay, the heroes usually just respawn after death without even losing their inventory. Occasionally the meaningless deaths get taken completely seriously, such as Gonathon's grim report that Mococo died evading justice. Possibly Justified by the fact that Calliope Mori stopped reaping human souls even before she got amnesia, and it's ambiguous whether the other reapers are even still alive after she beat them up.
- Dinner and a Breakup: The Death Do Us Part diner offers a free divorce with every meal. Nobody actually uses this until day eight, by which point Calliopeen is planning to scrap it. But just before she can, Bijou brings Shiori in and casually orders the "special service," much to Shiori's surprise. Shiori retaliates by trying to order as much expensive food as she can on Bijou's behalf.
- Dwindling Party: Amber Coin had lost half its members late into its run, with Bae being on break from streaming, while Kiara/Shakira had gone on a trip. This left only Raora/Queen Mario and Mumei, only for Mumei to defect to being a "communal" adventurer who assisted multiple parties, leaving mostly Queen Mario on her own to run the guild.
- Easter Egg: In addition to the main path, the dungeons have a secret path found that must be accessed through one of the puzzles to reach a special chest. This chest contains a record of the talent's first original song, which can be played in a jukebox in town.
- Engagement Challenge: Shakira asks Gonathon to marry her if she can beat him in a duel. Given that Gonathon is still devoted to his now-amnesiac wife, and Shakira is currently an accused murderer, this is about the only shot she has. Gonathon ends up winning anyway, and stays single.
- Gender Bender: Gonathon/Gigi is a strange example — Gonathon seemingly identifies as male and uses masculine pronouns, but looks almost identical to regular Gigi, who's pretty clearly a girl in both mind and body.
- Good Bad Bugs: In-universe, the girls are extremely happy to discover that the infinitely repeatable "kill ten Stains" quest is broken, and can be completed just by killing a single entity of any kind. They proceed to exploit it as much as possible before it inevitably gets patched. One of the only exceptions is Fauna, who's worried that the easy money will ruin the value of the FaunaMart lottery.
- Hearing Voices: Each hololive member refers to their own livestream chat as the "voices in their head". Hilarity ensues when some of them bring up this topic in the prologue and realize that they're not the only ones hearing strange voices.
- Hopeless Suitor: Nerissa's attraction to Elizabeth carries on into this world, only this time Lady Bloodflame has dialed up tsundere even further, with her usual refusal to admit her feelings and excuses of spending time with Nerissa, with vocal repulsion towards Nerissa and accusing her to be a witch while Nerissa is the one who actively stalks Lady Bloodflame.
- Insanity Immunity: The Hot Pink One (IRyS) and Shiori don't become thralls when wearing the Stain hats during the climax of the Stain Princess Arc. The former is the personification of Hope that may have killed the corruption before it can even take effect and the latter is the Archiver whose mind is so riddled with forbidden/forgotten knowledge that neither the Stain nor the cure has any effect on her. Played with Bijou since being the Jewel of Emotions messes with the Stain's purpose which messes with her emotions which alters the Stain even further, turning their purpose into a princess and evolved being instead.
- Interservice Rivalry: Though all the guilds share a goal to protect the kingdom, there's a lot of tension at the start between Cerulean Cup, Jade Sword and Scarlet Wand:
- Cerulean Cup and Jade Sword butt heads from the very first day, when Cerulean Cup member Gonathon/Gigi accuses Jade Sword member Ame/Jyonathan of trying to kill the king, not helped by respective guild leaders Tam Gandr and Lady Bloodflame escalating the situation with insults. Tam Gandr's plot to marry the king further puts them at odds with the Jade Sword, as they only support the King.
- Both the Cerulean Cup and Jade Sword members treat the Scarlet Wand with disdain due to the Scarlet Wand's tactics to scam people out of their money via a lottery system that the Fauna Mart runs. The Scarlet Wand is also distrusted due to most of their members being witches. Meanwhile, Scarlet Wand members Cecilia, Nerissa, and Fauna conspire to secretly gain the authority of the crown by putting putting Bijou on the throne as a Puppet King.
- On day 1, Cerulean Cup and Amber Coin get into a heated rivalry due to a dispute over IRyS, who, due to logging into the game late, ended up joining the Amber Coin party despite being sorted into the Cerulean Cup guild. From day 2 onward, however, the rivalry is mostly downplayed due to the fractured nature of Amber Coin. Kiara supports Tam Gandr, Mumei helps multiple parties, and Peasant the Bae runs off into the woods, dropping her responsibility altogether. While Raora draws the ire of Cerulean Cup and Jade Sword leadership due to her claim as queen, she does take in both Bijou and Ina as daughters and is otherwise on good terms with the other members.
- In-Universe Soundtrack: For most streams, all the background music comes from in-game jukeboxes. This includes the bittersweet song in the background of Gonathon and Amelia's "first" meeting after Amelia gets her memories back. Despite fitting the tone perfectly, it was actually put on by Bijou to troll Ina, completely unaware of what else was going on nearby.
- I Should Write a Book About This: Gonathon handles the tragic end to his romance with Ame by writing a book about it and donating it to the library. When he decides to try again, he confesses to her by writing a similar book that's more honest about what he felt through the whole ordeal and has a more hopeful ending. When asked, he claims that he didn't write either book and they're both fiction, despite his name being on the cover and the knight mentioned in the book being a dead ringer for him personality-wise.
- Knew It All Along: Some of the girls were suspicious about King Libestal, with Ame, Cecilia, Nerissa, and Bae thinking that he could be Evil All Along. They were right.
- Marry Them All: One set of overlapping Love Triangles gets resolved by everyone agreeing to be one giant polycule, with each girl having numerous "side chicks". Even the various wives can't keep track of it.
Shiori: My wife, I no longer recall who I have married, besides you and the raven. It is a very difficult spiderweb that has been drawn out.
- Mister Seahorse: Downplayed: Gonathon is pregnant with Yonathan's child, but he's actually biologically female (and outright was a girl before losing his memories), so it's not as improbable as a straight example. It's eventually subverted altogether when he tests negative on a pregnancy test.
- Name Amnesia: As a result of the Identity Amnesia, several members have chosen to go by different names or titles in Libestal. How strongly they stick with these names depends on the talent. A few of these names include:
- Kiara as "Tanakusha Karia" (or "Shakira", depending on who she's talking to)
- Ame as "Jonathan with a Y"
- IRyS as "The Hot Pink One"
- Kronii as "(Queen) Tam Gandr"
- Mumei as "Cleopatra Eisenhower Da Vinci the Great III", "Darwin Roosevelt DiCaprio Jr.", and "Napoleon Galileo Aristotle Targaryen". She eventually settled on "NanaMum".
- Gigi as "Gonathon with a G" (pronounced with a soft G, though the other girls keep pronouncing it with a hard G), and later simply "Sir Gonathon G".s
- Roara as "(Queen) Mario"
- Bijou has Nickname Amnesia, not recalling her nickname of "Biboo" or that Koseki should be a last name.
- Mococo is occasionally referred to as "Moco", "Moco of the Co", or "The Fuzzy One".
- Elizabeth only forgets her first name, resulting in her referring to herself as "Lady Bloodflame".
- Bae as "Peasant the Bae".
- Playing Card Motifs: Besides Tarot Motifs example below, the four Guilds of Libestal have stylised symbols based on each suit:
- Scarlet Wand resembles red clubs (♣).
- Amber Coin resembles yellow diamonds (♦).
- Cerulean Cup resembles blue hearts (♥).
- and Jade Sword resembles green spades (♠).
- Polyamory: IRyS creates a rather intricate polycule, claiming Mumei, Shiori, Bijou, Nerissa and Ina as her "side-chicks".
- Poor Communication Kills:
- Kronii's ambition to become Queen starts from this, funnily enough. She becomes smitten with the King when he explains why he called her and the other girls to Libestal. He's interrupted by Viridis when he starts to ask her to do something, but because of where he's interrupted ("And so I ask, will you—") Kronii thinks that he was about to propose.
- Nerissa converting Mococo's gambling winnings and some misunderstandings arising from it led to poor Mococo being dubbed a criminal.
- Prayer Pose: In the lower left of the official poster, Bijou is seen clasping her hands.
- Prison Dimension: Libestal is actually a prison to hold the Captive disguised as its king, who summoned the girls to destroy his warden the Stain King.
- Psychic Link: The Scarlet Wand hat, dubbed by Gura as the "Hat of the Appointed Point", is claimed to be capable of reading the minds of those who wear it. Fauna uses this ability to learn Gura's favorite color and determine that Mumei is crying Crocodile Tears.
- Pun-Based Title: ENigmatic Recollection is written with an uppercase EN to reference the English hololive branch which this project revolves around.
- Puppet King: After being knighted by Bijou (who had been declared a princess), Cecilia resolves to overthrow the King of Libestal and install Bijou in his place. She plans to use Bijou so that the Scarlet Wand guild can get support from the reigning monarch and is looking to create an enchanted item that would ensure Bijou's full cooperation. Nerissa and Fauna are both in support of the plan.
- Read the Fine Print: Nana-11 offers free "lottery" tickets that are guaranteed winners with a 100 gold prize each. Each customer can get up to 5, for an easy 500 gold. The catch? Each ticket has fine print on it requiring the recipient to give Mumei ten percent of all their income. This stacks for multiple tickets, meaning anyone who takes the 500 gold effectively got scammed out of half their money.
- Refused the Call: The reason for Peasant the Bae's absence for most of the story? She ran off to live in the woods, wanting nothing to do with the questing despite being one of the chosen heroes. She only returned for the Grand Finale due to the King kidnapping her and dragging her back to Libestal.note
- Revisiting the Roots: The lore videos for the Myth girls depict their stories using the very earliest lore established upon their debuts, ignoring all the Characterization Marches On that has happened since then.
- Calli's Don't Fear the Reaper lore is more in line with her early characterisation where her reaping was depicted as being harmful. Her memory shows her collecting souls to feed to the Underworld denizens for sustenance. This contrasts her later animated videos "Calli's Christmas Catastrophe" and "Don't Fear the Reaper" featuring Death-sensei, which depicted a Reaper's job as being more benevolent, with both of them acting more as a guide/escort for the recently deceased.
- More subtle with Gura, but this is one of the first times since her debut lore, where Gura is actively shown being bored of Atlantis. Gura's other accounts of arriving on the surface world were more implied that she was curious of this foreign land, with no indication she hated Atlantis and tried to escape.
- Kiara is an immortal phoenix warrior who merely works part-time at a burger restaurant, and is never shown becoming the CEO of her own fast food empire.
- Amelia is a regular human detective investigating the other girls with no mention of the Time Travel and The Multiverse aspects of her character that came about later.
- Second-Act Breakup: After beating all the Remembrance dungeons, Ame loses her memories of her time in Libestal. This includes her marriage to Gonathon, who decides not to burden her with promises she doesn't remember making. However, Ame starts to have an unrelenting feeling that she's "missing a diamond," and Gonathon can't get over her, ultimately driving them to get back together minutes before the final event.
- Secret Art: During the fight with the Stain King, the girls regain a portion of their power in the form of their signature weapon or item, which can be summoned by chanting "Revelation". This takes the form of a character-specific skill that runs on a cooldown. The skill becomes stronger after completing a dungeon and regaining part of their memories.
- Seemingly Hopeless Boss Fight: Upon meeting King Libestal for the first time, the girls are immediately thrust to defend against a sudden attack by the Stains. While they can defeat the lesser Stains using their starting weapons, they are initially unable to deal any damage to the Stain King. However, the battle is later scripted to give each girl their own signature weapon and ability which allow them to fend off the Stain King.
- Shipper on Deck:
- After Amelia loses the memories of her marriage to Gonathon, and Gonathon decides not to pursue her again, many of the other girls start enthusiastically pushing them to get back together anyway. Nerissa and Elizabeth even fight over which one of them gets to be Gonathon's wingman, before ultimately resolving to work together.
- After Bijou realizes that Elizabeth might have feelings for Nerissa, she starts shipping the two of them together mostly so Nerissa would stop going after her wife Shiori, this even continues even after she becomes the Stain Princess when her plot to write the true history of the kingdom just turns into her writing a three part romance Troll Fic between the two of them..
- Signature Headgear: Each of the four major guilds have a distinctive headgear to help telling their members apart: conical red hats for Scarlet Wand, green knight helmets for Jade Sword, beige top hats for Amber Coin, and light blue berets for Cerulean Cup.
- Skewed Priorities: The Stain King returns. The King of Libestal is revealed to be evil. The fate of everything is in the hands of the heroes. And Fauna is still advertising FaunaMart. Throughout the final battle, she tells them to pay up for her Golden Apple healing revelation even as the heroes are getting slaughtered left and right.
- Sleeping Single: The Death Do Us Part diner has a private room upstairs for lovers. It consists of two separate beds with a large gap between them. While this fits with the diner's divorce theme, Calliopeen ends up bridging the gap by adding a third bed.
- Someone to Remember Him By: The day after Yonathan/Ame regains her memories of her past life (and loses her memories of her time in Libestal up to that point), Gonathon discovers that he is pregnant with her child, according to Mumei. This is proven false after Gonathon performs a magical ritual (a pregnancy test).
- Spanner in the Works: Shiori, noticing IRyS and Ame together, asks if the two are together now and if they can share. What she didn't realize was that IRyS had been taking advantage of Ame's missing memories by claiming she was the one calling Ame "My Pearl" and not Gonathon, who was unable to convince Ame. This causes Ame to realize that IRyS is not the one she's looking for and leaves her, completely foiling her plans for Ame. It also gave enough time for Princess Bijou to confront IRyS over her infidelity with Princess Ina, which left her at the mercy of her harem. Ultimately, all of the Hot Pink One's plans completely crumbled because Shiori came in at the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Stealth Pun: The preview image for the "ENigmatic Recollection" Libestal Cloak-Style Blanket
in the hololive official shop features Ninomae Ina'nis with a speech bubble saying "In a matching style!" The joke here is Ina saying "In a".
- Tarot Motifs: The four Guilds of Libestal are thematically named after the four suits of the Minor Arcana; Scarlet Wand, Amber Coin, Cerulean Cup, and Jade Sword.
- Trapped in Another World: Nineteen girls are summoned by a ritual of King Libestal in order to combat the Calamity that threatens this world. Some of them even lampshade or compare this situation to an "Isekai".
- Troll Fic: In-verse, Stain Princess Bijou spreads corruption by filling the library with what appear to be normal Elizabeth x Nerissa fanfic, only for each one to suddenly devolve into some kind of quip like a "deez nuts" joke, followed by the words "may the lands burn" written over and over for pages on end.
- Unreliable Narrator: In-universe, Gonathon's writes a A Knight's Tale, a "fictional" account of his marriage to Ame. In it, "the knight" nobly accepts the inevitable loss of his love and moves on. Later, he writes A Knight's Wish, a more honest retelling that admits that he never actually got over Ame, and only pretended to because he was afraid he'd end up alone if anyone saw the cracks in his noble persona.
- Wall Pin of Love:
- When the Hot Pink One tries to reject Bijou's advances (due to Bijou being married, and also wearing a dead Stain as a hat), Bijou pins her against a wall to keep her from running. Lampshaded almost immediately.
Hot Pink One: Oh no, I'm kabedoned!
- One of Bijou's in-verse Elizabeth x Nerissa Troll Fics features Elizabeth romantically pinning Nerissa against a wall, leaving her speechless... and then suddenly luring her into a "deez nuts" joke before the book devolves into a Madness Mantra.
- When the Hot Pink One tries to reject Bijou's advances (due to Bijou being married, and also wearing a dead Stain as a hat), Bijou pins her against a wall to keep her from running. Lampshaded almost immediately.
- Wham Episode:
- On Day 5, Nerissa, while claiming that Liz should marry her as punishment, is killed by Kiara, witch-burning style.
- Day 6 sees Jyonathan regaining her memories as Amelia Watson... but unlike the other members of Myth, she has no memories of her Libestal persona. We also see Bijou fall to the corruption of the Stain.
- Day 7 has Nerissa, brought back to the world as a ghost. Later, that same person brings attention to a corrupted Bijou destroying the community gardens.
- Day 8/Finale has the king revealing himself as the prisoner of this world, as well as a mysterious voice urging the girls to jump into a portal as the realm they fought in collapses.
- What Did I Do Last Night?: On day 8, Ame wakes up with bloody hands, a massive supply of diamonds, and no memory of how she got either. The implication is that she had a mental break, went on an all-night mining spree, broke her pickaxe, and then kept going with her bare hands.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Pun aside, after Day 1, Bae made no further appearances in Chapter 1, owing to her going on break. She does come Back for the Finale, where she explains she ran away to live in the woods, wanting nothing to do with the heroes' quest to save Libestal before being forcefully kidnapped and dragged back on the final day, where she is confused by all the changes that have happened.
- Wistful Amnesia: Mococo is rather distressed and upset during her first couple of days in Libestal, but can't quite figure out why (though it's heavily implied that she's feeling separation anxiety from being away from Fuwawa for so long). This fortunately eases once Elizabeth takes her in and vows to stay by her side.
- Witch Hunt: Witches are feared across Libestal. Part of the Scarlet Wand's poor reputation is due to several members being suspected of being witches, Fauna and Nerissa especially being singled out as such.
