Object Invasion (Web Animation)

Welcome to the year of 6000, where evolved objects are the humans (but where does that put Ethan?)note

Object Invasion is an Object Show which began on Scratch on January 30, 2016, but then got rebooted and started airing on YouTube on July 2nd, 2016. It was created by FusionAnimations, who also made The Daily Object Show.

As the show's lore goes, the Earth suffered a total extinction due to mass radiation. Sometime after the catastrophe and life returns to the planet, new intelligent life arose in the form of evolved inanimate objects, which rebuilt the world to a state of normal.

Taking place in the year of 6000, the show follows iPad, an object who meets a group of 25 people who joins them in his competition show for a billion dollars as contestants. Not too early on, however, he has to deal with Mace, who swears Revenge on him for some Noodle Incident and wants to shut his show down, and must protect his contestants from him and (eventually) his mutated animal Mooks at all costs. It ran for 8 episodes before it's cancellation.

The show was then Uncancelled, and Episode 1 of the revival was released on September 20, 2024.

Episodes of Object Invasion can be viewed here.

Object Invasion provides examples of:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The team names have got this going on which includes Mindless Mutated Mangoes, Steaming Sandstorms of Rage, Aquatic Avocados, Dreaming Dragons and Winning Whales.
  • Adapted Out: Breath Mint, Dollar, Ethan, Glasses, Lego, Water, and Windows 7 were cut from the 2024 reboot.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In the 2024 reboot, Skittle was renamed Candy and given a completely different design along with it due to copyright. WAW was also renamed Tuna.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": The objects are named what they are as typical for any object show.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Like almost every object show ever made. The show's lore explains why this trope is played: sometime after the catastrophe that wiped the Earth clean of life, objects have evolved to become living beings. These newly-sediment objects would restore the world to its proper state.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Around half the cast is this which isn't surprising considering it's an object show.note
  • Apocalypse How: Class 6. The show takes place after the Earth was temporarily wiped clean of life by mass radiation. In short, the show takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth.
  • Armless Biped: A good portion of the contestants are this.note
  • Art Evolution: Compared the first episode to the latest episode, you'll be surprised.
  • Audience Participation: Up until episode 6, the viewers were able to vote on who gets the prize and who was to be eliminated. After that, it became contestant voting.
  • Big Bad: If you're gonna consider Mace as this, go right ahead.
  • Death Is Cheap: By means of a recovery center.
  • Eject the Loser: Via a Wrecking Ball and onto a monochrome deserted island.
  • Genius Ditz: Notebook Paper may be random and insane, but he's the one who helps Button become a better leader, gets a strike in bowling, and wins the challenge for his team in "Evade From the Crowd".
  • Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: The lore for some. Apparently, mass radiation caused a Class 6 apocalypse on Earth, and an entire race rose up after evolving from non-sentient objects and restore the planet back to how it was prior to the apocalypse. Sounds pretty weird, right?
  • Nightmare Face: Ethan. Jesus Christ.
  • Precision F-Strike: Episode 4 has a note from Bensword after a mistake over Glasses not being in Dollar's team (Steaming Sandstorm of Rage), reading "fusion is a f*cking idiot lol". Keep this in mind that this kind of language isn't common in most Object Shows, so this one could have been left in as a joke.
  • Spontaneous Generation: The object race evolved from non-sentient objects and became living beings sometime after the wipe-out of every living species on Earth.
