General notes on this boat

19 May 1944. On 19 May, 1944 U-1014 rammed her sister boat U-1015 in the Baltic west of Pillau, sinking her with the loss of 36 men (14 survived).

Schnorchel-fitted U-boat

This boat was fitted with a Schnorchel underwater-breathing apparatus and sailed equipped with it in January 1945 but it was of course installed prior to that date.

The boat suffered casualties of two dead and three wounded in a Soviet air raid on the harbour of Libau (Liepaja), Latvia.
