General notes on this boat

19 May 1944. On 19 May, 1944 U-1014 rammed her sister boat U-1015 in the Baltic west of Pillau, sinking her with the loss of 36 men (14 survived).

Schnorchel-fitted U-boat

This boat was fitted with a Schnorchel underwater-breathing apparatus and sailed equipped with it in January 1945 but it was of course installed prior to that date.
