Game Description

In Green Beret you play as a lone soldier battling in a 2D environment versus armies of enemy Russian soldiers. It's a cold war showdown with four main areas. A missile base, a harbor, a bridge and a prison camp are what separate you from rescuing your fellow, captive soldiers. The graphics are a standard mix of scrolling backgrounds and animated enemy soldiers. There are three different levels of platform to play on. The music has a standard background beat and the special effect sounds are weapon firings and killing.

When being attacked soldiers will come at you from both sides and soldiers will stream on the screen from behind you. The difficulty of the game is very high.

Weapons in the game consist primarily of the knife, but also machine guns, flamethrowers, three-shot rocket launchers or three grenades, which you receive when you kill soldiers that commandants. There are two states for attacking, the standing position and a prone on the ground state.

Score, levels, and lives are tabulated at the top of the screen where information is presented.
