Harold J. Powers

Harold J. Powers (October 8, 1900 - October 16, 1996) was a the 36th Lieutenant Governor of California, having served from 1953-1959 under fellow liberal Republican Governor Goodwin J. Knight.[1]
In 1962, Powers attracted political attention by his refusal to endorse Richard M. Nixon for governor in the general election contest that year against the Democrat Edmund G. "Pat" Brown, Sr.
