5.0 out of 5 stars A favorite of the little one for car trips later on
Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2015
Brings me back to the year I gave birth to my first child. Soundtrack of the birthing room in Marin General Hospital! A favorite of the little one for car trips later on. I love this band; cannot believe I never have been able to see them in concert, esp during all those years in California! As Wiki tells it their name has a great story, an essential part of our history, this "un-melted pot" of a country: Los Lobos's first major label album ," How Will the Wolf Survive? [was] in 1984. The album's title and the title song were inspired by a National Geographic article entitled "Where Can the Wolf Survive", which the band members related to their own struggle to gain success in the United States while maintaining their Mexican roots." I only wish I had learned Spanish when I was living in a majority Hispanic community when I was young. Fool, I am. Still time to correct this blundering error, and then I can understand AND enjoy all their albums.

4.0 out of 5 stars But there is so much more to LOS LOBOS

This is a FIVE STAR group, just as talented as the Beatles, Stones, Cream, Zep. But they are multi cultural, and All American. My favorite albums are, Town and Country, Kiko, and Just Another Band from East LA, and for kids Pappi's Dream. But you gotta sift through each album to find your groove. They play so many different styles, you are bound to LOVE a couple of them. And their lyrics are poetic genius. Listen to the Valley, or the Town. Humble reverance to a melodic and haunting RxR Groove. GENIUS

Report5.0 out of 5 stars CD with added beef

Midrange response is the benefit of this MFSL release. The soundstage is also expanded. I picked up the SACD eventhough I can't play that layer because I wanted to upgrade the digital version I have. Actually, now I wish I had picked up the vinyl instead. The redbook layer sounds fantastic which make me wonder how much of an upgrade the vinyl might have been from my original.

Report5.0 out of 5 stars Short track list, but great quality

I listened to this album over and over when I bought it when it first came out, and then the disc was damaged. I thought, "Well, I've listened to it so much, I don't need to replace it."
Wrong; five years later, I'm replacing it. I missed it.

Bought this on vinyl years ago; glad to find the disc. This is an excellent piece of work! Really enjoy the upbeat tunes and the slower, thought-provoking numbers as well. Just a great album. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Un gran grupo
Reviewed in Spain on February 11, 2017
