The parish of St. Vladimir in Halifax was blessed to have his Eminence Archbishop Irenee visit on the eve of Theophany.

His Eminence presided at the Divine Liturgy and the service of the Great Blessing of Water in church.

On Sunday, after the Divine Liturgy, the clergy and faithful of the parish went to the Atlantic ocean, and blessed the waters there.  

The blessing of the ocean is particularly relevant to our small parish as we have parishioners who earn their living at sea, including catechumens in the Royal Navy. 

On Sunday January 12th, following the Divine Liturgy, Priest Matthew Francis led the faithful of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Chilliwack, British Columbia, to serve the Theophany Great Blessing of Water at the Fraser River. Blessed with a bright and sunny afternoon, the clergy and faithful ventured to Island 22 Park, on the banks of the mighty Fraser River, where the Great Blessing of Water was served. The day concluded with a festive "Winter Picnic," around the riverside pavilion. 

On January 12th His Eminence Archbishop Irénée visited Saints Peter and Paul Sobor in Montréal.

Vladyka led the Divine Liturgy during celebrations of Nativity of Christ and visited the Christmas 'Yolka', with thematic performances prepared by pupils of the parish school.

Archbishop Irénée joined with Fr Paul Kara and the community of the Sign of the Theotokos Church in Montréal to celebrate the parish's patronal feast. Great Vespers with Litia/Artoklasia was held on the eve, and a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the feast, Sunday 24 November.

On Saturday 5 October 2024, Archbishop Irénée concelebrated Divine Liturgy with His Holiness, Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church, at Holy Trinity Serbian Church in Montréal on its 70th anniversary.

Peacefully departed in the Lord, September 4, 2024 at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 79 years after suffering a major stroke on Monday September 2, 2024.

He was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law, sisters Freda and Sandra, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
