Brie Larson was born Brianne Sidonie Desaulniersher on 1 October 1989. Her parents were both chiropractors.

She started acting from a very young age. When she was 7, she moved with her mother and sister from Sacramento to Los Angeles.

Her parents got divorced and she was home-schooled for a while before leaving high school at 15.

She then wrote and recorded a song called Invisible Girl and was offered a record deal, but turned instead to pursue a career in acting.

She would move from Disney films to independent movies such as acting in Scott Pilgrim vs the World and 21 Jump Street.

In 2019, she played the title role in Captain Marvel.

In the same year she starred in the box office success Avengers: Endgame. The cast included Scarlett Johannson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr, and Tom Hiddleston.

In May 2019, it was revealed that she would appear on Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

In 2020, Brie Larson launched her own YouTube channel.

In 2024, Brie Larson was nominated for an Emmy for playing Elizabeth Zott in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry.

In September 2024, it was revealed that Brie would make her UK stage debut in 2025 in Elektra, an adaptation of Sophocles’s play.
