DC's Live-Action "Titans" Series Not Moving Forward at TNT

During a presentation at this year's TCA conference, TNT president Kevin Reilly revealed that production on the long in-development drama series based on DC's "Teen Titans" property has been stopped. Deadline broke the news, saying that Reilly said that the network "decided it wasn't where we wanted to go." Deadline notes that "Titans" had previously been ordered to pilot by the "previous network regime."

News of a potential "Titans" series first emerged in September of 2014, with Akiva Goldsman and Mark Haimes attached as executive producers. Things moved quickly from there, with DC CCO Geoff Johns revealing just a few months later that the "Titans" pilot would film at some point in 2015. News about the show's cast -- which may have included Nightwing, Barbara Gordon, Hawk, Dove, Raven and Starfire -- appeared in February 2015, but no updates were given regarding when the pilot would shoot.

TNT announced their fall and winter lineup in September of 2015, with "Titans" nowhere to be seen. At the time, TV Line reported that their sources said "Titans" was still in development. That has since changed, as TNT has revealed they are no longer moving ahead with the pilot.

Even without "Titans," DC has a number of superhero shows on the air. "Gotham" and "Supergirl" air on Mondays on Fox and CBS, respectively; the CW airs "The Flash" and "Arrow" on Tuesday and Wednesday night, with "Legends of Tomorrow" premiering on the network on Thursday, January 21.
