I have now set things up to use Literata on Mobile and STIX Two Text on Desktop. Literata was designed specifically for reading on mobile devices, and it works better on my iPad. But STIX Two Text is easier for me to read on my desktop. Both fonts will be imported, and which one is used will depend upon whether it's displaying a page for Mobile or Desktop. So, if you request the Desktop version on a mobile device, you will get STIX Two Text, and if you view a Mobile version on your desktop, you will get Literata.
I have also placed Bookerly ahead of Literata in the font list for Mobile. The result is that if you have Bookerly installed on your mobile device, it will use Bookerly instead of Literata. I tested this on my Kindle Scribe, and on that device, Bookerly looked better than Literata. However, since Bookerly is not a Google font, it is not among the fonts imported. So you will see Bookerly only if you already have it installed. The Bookerly font was designed by Amazon for Kindles and should already be installed on any new Kindle.
So can you please look at my ready-to-review submissions to publish some of them and let me peacefully escape from this site?
BTW: you solved the problem with outshaped external links. Well done!
Instead of changing font-weight to 500 in the HTML tag, I have modified the CSS @import command to load the STIX Two Text font in only two weights, 425 and 700. Let me know if this helps.
Okay, I see what you mean. I looked at our previous comments in dark mode, and the bold text did not stand out as much. I'll look into it more later.
BTW new font works fine for light themes, but dark users are also hereโฆ) and previous comment applies to dark themes. Maybe they incorrectly interpret it?
