Franklin County, Kansas, Genealogical Society
The Franklin County, Kansas, Genealogical Society (FCGS) was founded in 1992 "to promote interest in genealogical and historical study and research, and to conduct such projects as shall contribute to that end."
Unfortunately, FCGS membership dwindled over time and the society finally dissolved in 2023. Since that time, its website has remained active but, as of February 2025, is in the process of being moved. It will soon become part of the Franklin County Historical Society website (https://www.olddepotmuseum.org/). Target date for this transition is later in 2025.
Until that migration is complete, this temporary site will exist to maintain access to the following resources in the hope that they will prove helpful to genealogists and historians with an interest in Franklin County.
The following local records were assembled by Louis Reed, a founding member of FCGS. Most are indexes, some are full records. All are available to download as PDF files.
