We are excited to have Owenby’s Apple House & Orchards as a part of the Festival.

Justus Orchards

The Justus Family has been growing delicious NC Apples in Hendersonville for more than Four Generations, our Fifth generation is now active as well.  At our NC Apple Orchard you will find U Pick or We Pick Apples, Blackberries and Pumpkins.  You can mix and match your favorite apples for eating or cooking.  We offer many apple varieties. And don’t forget that our  Apple House Bakery features our famous Fried Apple Pies, Cobblers and Apple Cider Donuts! Everything we offer is baked by us using fruit grown on our farm.

Rock Ridge Farm

Rock Ridge Farm is owned and operated by Justin McCraw, a fourth generation apple grower. The orchard was started by his great grandfather, Robert “Uncle Bob” Freeman, who is a former Grand Marshall of the King Apple Parade. Justin grows over 30 types of apples including Honey Crisp, Pink Ladies, Cameos, Fuji and heirloom varieties including Wolf Rivers, Banana Rose and Sheepnose. Stop by their booth located at 5Th and Main during the Festival and say hello!

Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard

Labor Day Weekend:

Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard invites you to come out to their 100 acre farm throughout apple season.  Pick your own apples from over 40 acres of orchard and visit the sunflower fields and cut a bucket to take home.  Fun farm activities will be open, including apple cannons, tractor pulled wagon rides and a 5 acre corn maze.  Apple cider donuts are made fresh daily as well as other baked goodies on the weekends.  Refreshing apple cider slushies taste delicious on a warm day and our kettle corn can’t be beat.

Piney Mountain Orchards

Wade and Sara Edney are the owners of Piney Mountain Orchards. They are proud to be 3rd generation growers and their children are now the 4th generation that are involved in its operation. Their orchard is in Fruitland. They grow 30 varieties of apples, including Honey Crisp, Galas, Gingergold and Fujis, which are harvested August to November. They have participated in the North Carolina Apple Festival for over 11 years. At Piney Mountain Orchards you are always “Getting It Fresh”.

Ottanola Farms

Ottanola Farms are 5th generation Henderson County apple growers and packers. They have 3 generations still active in its daily operations. They have particiated in the North Carolina Apple Festival since 1993. They grow 18 varieties of apples such as Honey Crisp, Galas, Empire, Ginger Gold and Granny Smith. They begin harvesting in early August through late October. Geraldine Lamb, of Ottanola Farms, serves on our Board of Directors and is a Past President of the North Carolina Apple Festival.

Newman Orchard

Newman Farms was established in the 1950s by Marshall Hall Newman also known as Red Newman.  Randy Newman the third generation is now running Newman Orchard along with help from his family. Newman Orchard grows Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Honey Crisp, Stayman Winesaps, Rome Beauty, Fiji, Gala, Arkansas Black, Cameo, Pink Ladies, Zesta, Macintosh, Candy Crisp and Cortland apples. You can visit the Newman Orchard at the festival, but you can also visit their farm which is located right beside Blue Ridge Community College in East Flat Rock.

McConnell Farms

Visit our beautiful picturesque farm and views of the mountains. We will have pre-picked Apples, Apple Slushies, Fried Apple Pies, Apple Cider Donuts and 14 flavors of Farm Made Ice Cream. And, introducing Apple Ice Cream and Apple-lanche! They are located at 177 Old Dana Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792

Lyda & Sons Orchard

Teresa and Russell Lyda are the proud owners of Lyda and Sons Orchard, and along with their sons are still growing apples in Edneyville. The orchard has over 20 varieties of apples such as Honeycrisp, Gingergold, Galas Mutsu, Fuji, Jonagold, Staymen Winesap and Cortlands. They also sell cider slushies, sippers and caramel apple slices. Fresh apples and apple items can be purchased at our Apple Festival booth located between 1st Ave. and Allen St. or at the Hendersonville Tailgate Market or the Curb Market. They have participated in the Apple Festival for over 20 years. Teresa also serves on our NCAF Board of Directors.

During Apple Season, you can purchase apples from them at the Henderson County Tailgate Market on King Street and the Church Street Club Market on Saturday.

Creasman Farms

Creasman Farms is operated by 3rd generation apple farmers. They specialize in heirloom, as well as, many new varieties of apples. So if you are looking for varieties such as Jonathan, Jonagold, Mutsu, Galas, Wolf River or Swiss Gourment, stop by the Creasman Farms booth at the Festival. During the Festival they offer fresh apples and freshly baked apple pies. Dawn Creasman along with her daughter Colby Creasman Buchanan are members of the North Carolina Apple Festival Board of Directors and serve as chairs of the Apple Ambassador program.

Refreshing Ridge Family Farm

When you stop by Refreshing Ridge Family Farm’s booth near the entertainment stage, prepare for a delightful surprise. Their fresh and piping hot fried and baked apple pies are a must-try! With a classic recipe perfected over 30 years, these pies keep visitors coming back year after year. And here’s a tip: Bringing home a dozen of these pies won’t last beyond the car ride home!

Apple Mill Orchard is located on the southern slopes of the mountains of Western North Carolina, home of apples known countrywide for exceptional flavor. Apple Mill offers many products during the Festival including many types of fresh apples from our orchard.
