Pushing up against the deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 draft, the Yankees made a series of additions to their 40-man roster, including a trade for Padres infielder Dean Anna.
The team sent right-hander Ben Paulus to San Diego for Anna, who posted an .892 OPS in Triple A last season. Anna turned 26 in November.
The Yankees also added right-hander Jose Campos, right-hander Shane Greene, outfielder Slade Heathcott, right-hander Bryan Mitchell and catcher Gary Sanchez.
To clear room on the roster, the team outrighted infielder Corban Joseph to Triple-A Wilkes/Barre.
