Entrance – PROAP | Landscape Architecture
- ️Mon Jan 20 2025
PROAP is a Landscape Architecture studio committed to the idea of Landscape as Heritage. A heritage built through the continuous relations that people establish with natural systems. A heritage that is thus a “second Nature” (Cicero), that is, a continuous process of transformation that redesigns the landscape according to the convenience and needs of human communities at different times.
observe
Because each project is unique to us, we approach it as a challenge to our ability to celebrate each place in whose landscape we intervene. We do not use ready-made solutions, standard elements or uniform typology. Each project is for us an investigation, in the course of which we try to understand the place and the people who inhabit it. To this end, we have constituted ourselves as a multidisciplinary team with different levels of expertise in Landscape, covering areas ranging from Conceptual Development of Landscape Projects, through Land Planning, Design and Sustainable Development, or even Urban Design and Planning.
understand
There are narratives fundamentals that, because they cut across our projects, anchor our work. How they manifest themselves in each project is not, however, formatted, constant or proportional. They take on more or less expression and alternate between different meanings according to each project. And because their various dimensions and meanings overlap and add up, they constitute underlying themes that justify options and can be the object of research.
interpret
Viewed as an organizing element of a complex succession of phases, stages and states over a period of time, the landscape project thus performs a careful reading of what already exists to create something new. Starting from a deciphering that simultaneously dialogues with Nature and with previous human interventions, we seek to confer to our projects not only meaning, but also functionality and sustainability.
rethink
Codify the natural elements,
interpreting the essence of forms,
in the definition of a way of doing:
metabolic, perceptive, functional;
nature, artifice, landscape.
