Critics Consensus

Overall, Fury is a well-acted, suitably raw depiction of the horrors of war that offers visceral battle scenes but doesn't quite live up to its larger ambitions.

Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint The scenes that attempt to humanize the protagonists, while also portraying the darker side of war, are too contrived. But the raw battle scenes are riveting...but you cannot ignore the script's moral high ground. Aug 5, 2019 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor An impressively solid World War II movie of the kind they don't make anymore. Rated: B+ Jan 5, 2015 Full Review Chris Nashawaty Entertainment Weekly While these orgies of violence are staged with tense, gruesome precision, they don't convey much beyond what we already know. Namely, that war is hell. Message received. Rated: C+ Jan 5, 2015 Full Review Ankit Ojha Cinema Elite Ayer wants you to empathize with the psychological damage war causes those thrust into it but doesn’t let that veer him away from letting you know that none of these characters—apart from Norman to an extent—are likable or remotely good people. Rated: 4/5 Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Ross McIndoe The Skinny Its blood-and-gore approach seems less in service of historical realism and more a means of delivering the kind of masochistic machismo in which Ayer has a tendency to deal Rated: 2/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand [Director David] Ayer is all about conflict and collisions, between and within groups of violent men, and has consistently made the violence in his cinema visceral and vivid. Jayson J Brad Pitts' performance in this movie was why I chose to become a 19Kilo (tanker) in the U.S. Army.🫡 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/25 Full Review Optimus P Love this film! Have watched it multple times. What really stands out about Fury is how raw and gritty it feels. The battles are chaotic and terrifying, and the film doesn’t shy away from showing how brutal war is. The tank scenes are some of the most intense I’ve ever seen in a movie—you feel the claustrophobia inside the tank and the constant danger outside. It’s loud, dirty, and unrelenting, which makes it all feel so real. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/25 Full Review Adam Q Fury is a gripping WWII film that’s both well-produced and brilliantly acted. It captures the horrors and psychology of war in a way few films do today, offering a raw and emotional experience. With a strong cast and intense storytelling, it’s a powerful reminder of the kind of character-driven war movies we rarely see anymore. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Stephen P director looks like gordon freeman lol Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review ROBERT L A excellent depiction of the horrors of war within the claustrophobic world of a Tank. Brad Pitt has many standout moments. And one of his best performances. A must see movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Rafi A really enjoy the movie, i love how don look tough but completely different when he's alone. beautiful movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
