Carzap (カーザップ Kāzappu) has an unusual outlook on life. Where some people might mourn missed opportunities, he believes that life is cyclical—have patience, and you might just find that another open door presents itself. This philosophy is born of Carzap's circuit racing pastime. Life, like the race track, is a loop.

There we go. All done.

Carzap was born on Earth as a "Generation 2" Transformer. His creation took place in the Block Town unit of Blackrock Corporations' Tsukuba Laboratory in Japan, and, as such, Carzap has much affection for his "homeland". It was also in Japan that Carzap became fascinated with car races by watching them at the Dia Speedway. Carzap's bio During the Machine Wars, Carzap became part of the "Alpha Squad", led by fellow second generation Autobot Rapido. (Or perhaps the Bravo Squad...there was some debate.) His unit was sent from Earth to Cybertron as reinforcements as part of a plan by Pyro and Obsidian. A Common Foe

Carzap was a security guard working for Perceptor at the Forge Pyramid. When war came to Cybertron, the Decepticons attacked the Pyramid as Optimus Prime and his Autobots were visiting. Carzap fought to defend the Pyramid, but its regulation systems were already damaged by quakes before being damaged by laser fire. As molten plasma flooded the building and destroyed it, Carzap evacuated with Perceptor and the Autobots. War World: Titans

"Parking Space Set" didn't have the same oomph.

  • Garage Set (Block Town, 1996)
    • ID number: TFBT-5
    • Accessories: Engine block/gun, garage brick set
The European-original Windbreaker mold was one of several intended to be used in the post-G-2 Takara Block Town line. To be redecoed in white with red robot parts, Carzap was to come with the Garage Set, a building-block car port that could be rebuilt into a battle station of some form. This set ultimately never came to release. In 2005, a supposed Takara "release" schedule listed the Block Town sets among several other future items coming out. Only the Galaxy Force items on that list saw release, however (and some only as store exclusives to boot).
A picture of the Garage Set's box in the Transformers Generations guidebook gives the Windbreaker redeco the name "Carzap", which was what Windbreaker's Japanese name was revealed to be on a BotCon Japan 2000-exclusive poster.

Blackrock loved Bumblebee so much, he built a new car in Bee's image.

  • Carzap (Deluxe, 2015)
  • TFSS3 number: 1
  • Accessories: 2 blasters, gas pump/laser blaster block set
A retool of Generations: Thrilling 30 Deluxe Class Bumblebee, Timelines Carzap sports a new head based on the Windbreaker mold, and a deco based on the cancelled Block Town Carzap toy. He transforms into a muscle car that resembles a fifth generation Ford Mustang. He comes a pair of chromed blasters that can be combined into one, larger weapon, or mounted in halves on each end of his vehicle-mode spoiler via 5 mm post.
In homage to Block Town, Carzap includes a small gas pump Kre-O building set which can turn into a cannon, and a G.B. Blackrock Kreon.
He was available only as part of the Transformers Figure Subscription Service 3.0. Despite having a Generation 2 Autobot symbol on his car mode, his bio card labels him with the original "Generation 1" Autobot symbol.
This mold was also retooled into Generations Nightbeat and Goshooter.

Notes

  • Kre-O Carzap in the online manga is made from several existing Kre-O pieces, in this case he uses the grey or chromed version of the Prowl helmet (with additional grey details). His appearance in the "Earth's Most Wanted" comic uses a Sideswipe helmet instead. His color scheme is very different from that of the original Carzap from the 1997 BotCon Japan poster, though.
  • Windbreaker's gang-molded pair Skram was the only Axelerator not shown as part of the canceled Block Town series. Judging from gang-molding, a hypothetical Block Town "Skram" alongside Carzap would have been a red car with white robot parts.
