Destruction's Dawn - Transformers Wiki

The Combiner Wars come to an end, to everyone's relief.

Synopsis

In a trackless void, a disembodied voice confronts Windblade. She recognizes the voice as that of Metroplex. Windblade pleads with him to help her "end this," but Metroplex claims that he was abandoned, and calls Windblade out on her anger and violence. Having a change of heart, Windblade asks the Titan what she should do, and receives a stern reminder that she is the Cityspeaker.

Miraculously revived, Windblade pulses with energy, and groans as she gains control over Metroplex—whose arm bursts out of the ground. As Ultimate Starscream continues on his rampage, Windblade uses her newfound peace to...crush Starscream with Metroplex's giant hand. Not destroyed, but helpless in the grip of the Titan, Optimus Prime and Megatron take the opportunity to finish him off with a blast from Megatron's rifle mode. The defeated Starscream bursts into a shrieking cloud of flames.

As the smoke clears, Optimus questions Windblade on how she survived, but she seems to have no idea. Megatron wanders onto the scene, carrying the Enigma of Combination. After a moment of tension, Megatron tosses it to the surprised Windblade, then leaves.

Meanwhile, nearby, Rodimus Prime and the Mistress of Flame are joined by all of the Combiners—who stand intact, despite having been slashed apart, blown up, and dismembered previously. Windblade hands the Enigma to Victorion, who wonders why Windblade, their former antagonist, is showing such compassion. Windblade explains that the Enigma wasn't meant for Cybertronians, and asks Victorion to "unite her people." Victorion then proceeds to absorb the Enigma directly into her chest. She and the other Combiners wander off into the night.

The Mistress of Flame commends Windblade on ending the Combiner Wars. Windblade agrees that the war is over—but, amidst a flash of a certain familiar visage, she claims that there is an even bigger problem: the Titans have Returned! Apparently!

Megatron knows he's too good for this show.

Notes

Transformers references

  • Megatron says he is "more than meets the eye". It feels just as forced as it sounds.

Errors

  • This episode was titled as "Episode 7" on its initial YouTube release, despite actually being the eighth one. This was later corrected.
  • Menasor is among the Combiners leaving peacefully, despite the fact that he's been previously established as aggressive and overly violent back in "The Fall". And dead. The same goes for Computron, who was beaten to death by Menasor in the same episode. According to interviews with Charlie Guzman and Matthew Patrick, the pair were brought back to life by Starscream using the Enigma of Combination.
  • In "The Council", Starscream notes that "Combiners are still Autobots and Decepticons", yet here Windblade says the Enigma belongs to the Combiners, prompting Victorion to take the Enigma and leave with the other combiners, implying they are some sort of sub-species or different entities entirely. What exactly are Combiners in this universe?
  • In "Unforgotten", Megatron transformed into a tank rather than a gun. Error, or surprise triple-changing? Either way, his gun mode model shares nothing in common with his robot mode design, and he never takes this form again in later episodes.
  • Windblade implies that this show will get a sequel, which, of course, isn't possibl— aw, crap. (I need a beer. Someone get me a beer.)
  • This series was produced.
