Timelines
"Doctor B" discovered that his entire universe was in danger of being overwritten by another universe. Using the Dimensional Interfacer machine he had invented, he sent six cyborg warriors—four Guardians, two Renegades—to the offending 22nd Level to investigate, but they ended up being waylaid in Nexus 208.0 Epsilon instead. In Gargent 087.0 Kappa, Dr. Braxis devised the fail-safe self-destruct sequences of the Renegades' bases on the planet Moebius. Unfortunately, this was exploited by extradimensional Spy Changer Hoist to remotely destroy all the bases. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/30
Go-Bots comic
Professor Braxis was a lecturer and expert in Gobotics at a college in America. He was so impressed by freshman A.J. Foster he invited her to dinner and offered her the role of teaching assistant. He then locked her in his cellar with his monstrous personal Go-Bot, Vamp, who menaced the girl Go-Bots #1 before she was saved by her own Go-Bot, Scooter. Scooter manhandled Braxis and then left with A.J., walking straight into the Go-Bot rebellion. Vamp remained loyal to Braxis, and the pair watched with amusement as the rebels tortured Scooter and A.J. Go-Bots #2
As the Go-Bots took over Earth and built Gobotron, Braxis went into hiding, building a whole army of Vamps which then went into suspended animation, with his decaying form inside one of them. A lifetime later, the Vamps were accidentally reawakened by Leader-1, Scooter, Turbo, and the Guardians during their search for the Lazer Lance. The Vamps attacked them, with Braxis remembering Scooter after their tussle all those years before. However, the Vamps were scared off by the discovery of the Go-Bot god, Courageous. Go-Bots #4 While the Go-Bots were busy battling Zod and killing each other on Earth, Braxis took the Vamps to Gobotron and caused huge devastation to the planet. When the Command Center returned from Earth, it was attacked by the Vamps, with Turbo, Scooter, and Crasher left surrounded. They were saved by the arrival of Road Ranger, who bisected Braxis and made short work of his army. Go-Bots #5
Notes
- Doctor Zebediah Braxis was a human scientist from the Challenge of the GoBots. In that show, Braxis plays largely the same role for the Renegades that Doctor Arkeville plays for the Decepticons in the Generation 1 cartoon. The main difference is that while Arkeville appeared only in the three "The Ultimate Doom" episodes and "Countdown to Extinction", Braxis was a recurring character throughout the series. Whenever Cy-Kill needed scientific expertise, he often turned to the human. Depending on Cy-Kill's mood, Braxis was treated as anything from "marginally better than disposable" to "full-fledged fellow Renegade".
- The dimensional interfacer used in "Withered Hope" made its debut in the two-part "Invasion From The 21st Level" episode.
- The character was only referred to as "Doctor B" in "Withered Hope", and Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II gives the full name of "Thadius Braxis", despite his given name in the original GoBots cartoon being "Zebediah". The Complete AllSpark Almanac corrects this, saying "Thadius" is Braxis's middle name.
- Braxis's development of the nova beam was chronicled, appropriately enough, in the Challenge of the GoBots episode, "Nova Beam".
- Braxis's exit from the war via stolen shuttle took place in "Braxis Gone Bonkers".
