Sir Thomas Pope Blount, 1st Bt.1

Sir Thomas Pope Blount, 1st Bt. was born on 12 September 1649 at Upper Hollway, Islington, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Blount and Hester Wane.1 He married Jane Cæsar, daughter of Sir Henry Cæsar and Elizabeth Angell, on 22 July 1669 at St. Olave's, Hart Street, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 30 June 1697 at age 47 at Tittenhanger, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 8 July 1697 at Ridge, EnglandG.1
     He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 1 December 1668.1 In December 1678 he succeeded to the estate of Tittenhanger, from his mother.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Albans between 1679 and 1681.1 He was created 1st Baronet Blount, of Tittenhanger, co. Hertford [England] on 27 January 1679/80.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire between 1689 and 1697.1 He was a Commissioner of Public Accounts between 1694 and 1697.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

Jane Cæsar was born on 2 October 1650.1 She was the daughter of Sir Henry Cæsar and Elizabeth Angell.1 She married Sir Thomas Pope Blount, 1st Bt., son of Sir Henry Blount and Hester Wane, on 22 July 1669 at St. Olave's, Hart Street, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 14 July 1726 at age 75 at Kensington Gravel Pits, Kensington, London, EnglandG.1 She was buried on 17 July 1726 at Ridge, EnglandG.1
     From 22 July 1669, her married name became Blount.1
